Landry new go-to guy? (split from welcome thread)

Ok so I was curious about how Landry performed for the Rockets when he played 30+ minutes a game. So I threw out all his 29 and under minute games. He scored 20.6 points and 7.2 rebounds in 32.3 minutes of play in 19 games.

Of course different team, different style and players. The Kings tend to score a little more as a total offense. The real number I might be curious to see is how many assists Tyreke gets now that he has a finisher around the rim. I wonder if Elias keeps stats on missed layups. The Kings would be #1 in that department.

Bottom line with Landry stats. (probably the thing people in houston will point to first)

Second in the league in 4th quarter scoring behind LeBron. The guy just makes things happen. He probably has a limited upside but watch him play and you'll absolutely love him. Basically take guys like Brockman that you appreciate for the hustle and apply a decent amount of talent to them.

Thanks for doing this. It's good to see his stats went up considerably with more minutes. I would assume that he's easily going to average 32+ minutes with the Kings and, like you mentioned, we score more so I'd imagine he might be more like a 22 pts, 9 reb guy with us. :)

Oh yeah? Better tell Westphal that, he called Landry our new go to guy.

We all know Evans is the go to guy. I have no idea why Westphal would say such a thing in earnest. If Landry is such a go to guy, then I am liking the luxury of having two on the squad.

he isnt a go to guy but he is a really reliable scorer under pressure. im sure you guys will love what he brings to the table. ive been reading some of the archived posts and you guys seem to complain about evans being the only player thatcan make things happen in crunch time, landry will definitely help in that department. he's a decent rebounder too....

we've lost like 15 games by 5 points or fewer and this guy is one of the best 4th quarter scorers in the league so he should be useful.

I don't think he said that.

More like he said Landry is our best post guy and he's the go to guy in the post.
Thats how I have interpreted Westphal's comments!

Landry instantly becomes our best low post scorer and he is our go-to guy in the post but when the game is on the line and you need someone to take the final shot for a win, there is no doubt that Tyreke is the man.

Landy at least gives us an option in those situations where we go through periods where we are unable to score. Now istead of riding Tyreke, we also have the option of dumping the ball down low to Landry when we need a score and let him go to work.

Overall, with Landry's scoring ability in the post we are a much more balanced team offensively. All we really need is a defensive monster at C.

Carl Landry's game reminds me alot of Kenny Thomas' first couple games in a Kings uniform. Anyone else remember that hustling quick explosive rebounding pf we traded Webber for?

landrys 20 times the offensive player thomas ever was.
The only reason thomas put up 14 ppg his first 25 games here was because we had a great offensive system that was tops in the league and a great coach.

Once we actually have a team that can run the pick and roll, or any offense at all.. Im sure you will see the universe between kenny thomas and carl landry.
