Lakers-Suns

Well, timeout or no, that loss really goes on Nash. Missed 8 in a row down th stretch, including three threes that could have broken the Lakers back. Did the Manu play to let the Lakers reach OT. Stepped up once to hit the three. But then came right back and dribbled into a trap and got himself tied up. Just need much more out of your star floor leader.

Steve Nash and the Suns got screwed up the ***. Nash got raped on that play, and a timeout was called.

No, but it always seems to be in favor of the Lakers, doesn't it? I can't tell you how much I hate the refs for favoring La La Land.

Good luck tonight against SA. Hope you extend them as far as possible.

Suns just got robbed by the refs. Nash was fouled AND he was screaming for a TO. Didn't get either.

EDIT: I do agree that the Suns didn't get it done in regulation and Nash had a really tough quarter and got himself trapped on that last possession. Guess even two-time MVP PGs make bad decisions that cost playoff games.;)

I just saw the jump ball and the shot... what happened up to that point?

Suns were up by 5 with secs left in regulation. Smush hit a 3 and then he popped it out of Nash's hands on the inbounds, it went to George, George to Kobe, Kobe hit a high floater to send the game to OT.

Bah. Kobe played 10 minutes in the 1st half thanks to Bennie The Rat. Bout time he helped us out.

Lol. Brick, maybe you're right about them not playing that dunk in perpetuity. It'll probably be that shot instead.

How the mighty have fallen that they use words like perpetuity to describe shots in the first round of the playoffs with 16 banners (or whatever) hanging in the rafters.

Suns choked that one away. Although incredibly blatant missed call by the ref on the jump ball.

Can't expect Laker fans to feel bad though about help from the zebras, they're used to winning that way ;)

For the life of me I can't understand why Bennett Salvatore is picked to work in the playoffs. Probably the reason why he didn't see Nash calling a time out was because Nash was trying to stop full penetration from Odom who was basically pushing him out of bounds. Totally ridiculous but Phoenix should expect nothing less than getting hosed by the officials at Staples Center....it happens to alot of teams.

Indeed. I thought they basically had the game when Nash hit that three, but nope.

Hell of a game today

If that actually happened, it would have been a little outside the referees' jurisdiction.

Can we please stop throwing the term "rape" around so liberally?

yeah. my bad. not a good word to use.

Benny helped the suns as much as he can and the refs are literally allowing Raja bell to hack at kobe with no calls and today offensive foul calls. Refs will not bail out the players at the end of the game where the supposed mvp is caught in between three players and the half line. Bad spot for him to be in the first place, with so much time left on the clock why was he racing to the half line thus adding another defender on the way (the half line).

Suns players did not help him out at all and that is bad coaching, they thought that the lakers would foul him immediately and were totally relaxed, and didnt come to help him out untill too late. BTW kobe was hit a couple of times on the shot that sent the game to OT

I have no doubt there were missed calls all throughout the games. NBA refs aren't exactly noted for getting calls right :)

Just trying to think of any other top-caliber NBA player much less league MVP whose calls for time out would be ignored at that juncture in the game?

i'm just mad the lakers won.

when i saw those plays (plays at the end of regulation and OT) i was just "OMG are you kidding me?"

hmph. :|

yeah nash was pretty upset.

They probably can. Suns probably win Game 5. Game 6 will be like this one. It still would't surprise me to see Suns take it in 7 though.

I think we'll see some "make-ups" from the refs in the next game or two.
