Lakers interested in Wells?

Once again that roster doesn't compliment itself very well. Ron's role on the team is to handle the ball. That is something Odom wants to do as well. So does Shareef. And Brad too.

so we went from too many shooters who dont compliment each other or rebound... to having too many ball handlers....:D

Reef is not a ballhandler. He does take considerable time to set up his post moves, but its still not a ballhandling situation. When you throw it to him, its to score.

But given that in our prime we had three ballhandlers as well as Mike (Vlade, Webb, Doug) trying it again would not be unresonable with Brad (Vlade) Ron (Doug) and Lamar (Webb) + Mike working more off the ball again. Brad would have to do double duty as the pick and pop guy for Mike, but it might work.

Too many ballhandlers can be an issue with teams, as can having too many scorers. More of a good thing isn't always better with only one ball to go around. But I'm not convinced that Ron + an immobile center in Brad (i.e. passes, but does not need to or look to dribble around) + an PG who is part OG and at least as good at spotting up as he is at creating is so many ballhandlers that one more creative guy would have no place. Frankly I would put the ball in Ron and Lamar's hands as our too toughest matchups, and then let Mike and Brad play off the ball to take advantage of their shooting. Defensively we'd still have issues, but offensively adding an incredibly versatile 6'10" guy who can play anywhere from the 1 to 4 spots can't hurt. Think the bigger issues would be about too many scorers ratehr than too many ballhandlers, but that's where a guy like Lamar is useful in a way that a guy like Peja was not -- he can help with his passing and rebounding even if he's not getting a high volume of shots.

P.S. None of the above should be taken to mean that I think this deal would actually happen. Just that if it were its about the best value we could hope to get at this point from the Bonzi fiasco.

That's how I see it, also. There are similar talents in that group, just distributed amongst different players. In some areas, they would be better, but not so much in others. Lamar is part young Webber, Miller part older Webber, with Artest as a combo of Vlade and Doug.

Bibby and Kevin fills out the backcourt, while Reef comes off the bench.

Most importantly, an Odom package would look better to Minny than one featuring Kenny.
