[Game] Kings vs. Spurs 19 FEB, 22:00 EST

Another winnable game if we don't go to subs for a majority of the 4th. I understand taking IT out as he played for 15 minutes straight, but the dude was red hot. Give him a minute rest and get him+Reke+Cousins back in at the 8:00 min mark. We didn't have that trio on the floor together until 3:20 left.

Story of our season. You'd think he would learn?

The real question here is what the hell he was doing out there on the 1-man anyways. Anytime you've got a seven footer against a 6 footer, things aren't going to end well.
Well, I mean, Russell, Olajuwon and Garnett in their primes. Aside from them, though...

the fact that this game was even close, is the exact reason i have ZERO faith in the Spurs to do anything in the playoffs no matter what their record is at the end of the year

We did the same all the time in our hey day. Overlook a crap team, control the game, ease up and relax, they make a run, then just finish them off at the end. Walk out with a win.

Eh, we just took out enough to win...

We're usually always competitive on our home floor. If this were in SA, we would've lost by 40. This had the potential to be a trap game for them, and I can guarantee Pop made them understand that. Every road game is a tough game in the NBA, and every road win is a great win in the NBA.

Remember, we also beat OKC in our house last year and they went on to the Finals.

It really boggles the mind. Play Reke, IT, Cousins 35+ MPG. Play JT 32 MPG+. Play Trob and Thornton 25+ MPG off the bench. Jimmer, Chuck, and Cisco should only be used in minimal situations. That trio of players should never be getting 53 minutes. 53!

maybe, but what about winning on the road against a Keith Smart led team that was poorly and cheaply put together and has best players barely breaking 30 minutes of play

Doesn't matter. Winning on the road is never easy, and the Kings are a .500 team at home. Half the teams in the playoffs right now have losing road records, some of them being fairly terrible.

"Benches are what win games for you in the NBA.. starters close it out."

Ohhhh that's why you let our bench put us in a 12 point hole!

Why did IT stay on the bench until the 3 minute mark?

"We made a run"

Keith Smart is delusional.

love how our crappy media asks Keith Smart his opinions on Danny Green and what he did during the AllStar break. wtf?

how about having some balls and questioning this guy why Thomas Robinson didn't play in the second half?

Well that may have been a good call. JT was balling, and TRob struggled in the first half. Was too much bench again, not too little.

What Smart doesn't apparently understand is he doesn't give his starters much of a chance. Whether it's the 2nd quarter where we I think have the worst 2nd quarter point differential in the league and it cause our starters to play catch-up, to bringing them back in late in the 4th and riding the bench too long.

Listening to this thread you would think that the Bench was getting killed tonight and the starters were great. I didn't watch the game so someone will have to explain to me how the entire starting lineup except for IT who was at -3 was a least double digits in the negative and every bunch player except Jimmer , who was at even was in the positive. How doesn' that happen is bench was so bad and the starters were so good?

Majority of the issue, for me at least, was that we were down by 4 midway through the 4th quarter with momentum. At that point we had Chuck, JT, Cisco, MT and Jimmer on the floor. DMC, Reke and our best offensive player for the night, IT should've been brought back in. Instead, they're not brought back in until we're down by double digits. Oh, btw? During that stretch, the Spurs we're playing their A lineup.
