Ahh, another loss to the Jazz. How fun.

My prediction skills are all powerful. Note the melted faces our Kings still possess due to the extraordinary shooting of Okur.

As well: 89-102 is really close to my projected 89-103.
Whatever, gloating aside, we still lost and I suppose that's just the way it should be. For now.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday (monday) we cut Drew Gooden. The second coming of Hakeem the Dream was in our presence for all of 11 days. Grant and Jerry will be so forlorn. They spoke so highly of him. Alas, we hardly knew ye, he of the octopus beard.

Seriously, the move will save the team 2 million this season and should place the available money we have for free agents at around 9 million (after the rookies show up etc...).

Ah, the possibilities.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The game at hand is versus the Indiana Pacers, less one fringe all-star Danny Granger and no Mike Dunleavy. The problem with that is Jarret Jack's recent production. Dude has averaged 23.8 points per game in Granger's absence. He just posted 28 against the Nuggets in a win. If Troy Murphy decides to go ahead and rebound the ball (he just got 18), we are in for some serious struggling around here. Let's not forget Hibbert either, the rookie has potential and should be a solid center.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Awards time

Mikki- goes to Kenny Thomas again, nobody else on the floor can accomplish what he can.
JHA- this will be given to our favorite: Troy Murphy. Why? because it seems appropriate.
TDM- McCants. Somehow he will find a way to score around everybody.
Lw-Vc- despite my enthusiasm I present this to Hibbert. Not good enough to battle our bigs.
RA&1- Brandon Rush. Replaced in the starting line up by Jack, Indiana's funny.
Methusaleh- Josh McRoberts. What the h#!1 was this guy ever all about?

Cassell/Greene/Obryant/Gooden award- (I'm gonna rename this soon because it's mine), will go to Greene. Maybe if we chant "Rudy, Rudy" he will get some decent PT. Someday someone else will get the Greene award, I promise.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Gist / Predictions:

This can go one of two ways; The Kings can roll over, but the Kings usually play under performers really well, so let's go with spectacular numbers all around.

Kings 111 Pacers 103
Martin 38 pts
Jack 29 pts
Hawes 14 rbds
Murphy 11 rbds
Solomon 6 asst
Jack 5 asst

------------------------------------------------------------------------

This game should be a slopfest with no defense allowed by anyone, another subpar game. Expect excellent basketball only in individual performances. Hawes, Thompson, Jack, Murphy and Martin all have the potential to crack this one open.

Heck, just watch it to see if McCants can continue working to secure his MLE level extension. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! (evil laughter).

alright you know the TDM usually goes to someone from the other team. Thanks for doing the game thread. I've been having PC issues and piksi has been under the weather. so good job!

he mixed them all up but at least he found time to put something together and that deserves credit.

And Troy Murphy will abuse us tomorrow night - mmw

Sorry you're not feeling well, Piksi. Get well soon. It might help if you could stop banging your head on your desk. ;)

That's the funniest thing I've read on here for a long time. Why? It's probably true.

Well the concept behind the awards eludes me, I just know the names. I admit, you fellows are better suited than I so far for these game threads.

Let me think on these awards out loud, maybe I will then get them right.

The way I see it
TDM is just a guy who out of nowhere goes lights out for 50 points.
JHA is some kind of decent effort by a mediocre guy.
Lw-Vc is for someone who doesn't deserve to be getting any of the credit he does.

Please correct me if wrong.

I would like to see JT and Hawes string together a few double doubles. Hawes is above 10 rebs over the last 6 or 7 games, and JT has had solid stretches of double digit rebounding. I just would like to see them combine their rebounding with their offense. They are both capable of getting 10-15 pts, especially with the increased minutes. It would be promising if they got ddoubles on average every other game for the rest of the year and build on it going into next season.

Ah, such a nice exchange...

This game may end up being really painful to watch. Kings with three turnovers in less than 3 minutes...

Indiana can sit their best guys. We'll still find a way to lose to them.

I wish T.J. Ford didn't have that worrying history of spinal injuries - he's become a heck of a basketball player and hope to be able to watch him for years.

Anyone else wish Hawes would shoot the three a little more often?

He was shooting it more frequently in the beigging of the year and was shooting it well.. it seems as though he stopped looking for that shot, he can hit it though. His scoring numbers have been down a little bit the last few games and I think that may be a reason why, he's been open 2-3 a game from outside and passed up the open look .. He starts hitting some shots from out there it opens up a lot of room for everyone else, teams are giving him room out there. Take the shot spence.

Uh-oh. Talking about our legitimate bigs standing outside and lobbing threes is paramount to talking about putting puppies in blenders...

;)

I wouldnt mind 1 attempt per 25 minutes gametime.

I'd rather have our 5 mixing it up in the paint with all his fancy postmoves. You cant draw fouls on opposing bigs with 3pt attempts.

And oh boy! Natt's gone small already! I guess he wants both Murphy AND Foster to have 15+ rebound games tonight.

Yup, thats what I said?

Did u not see him wide open about two minutes ago? he sticks that shot once and the D wont sag off him like that, giving Martin, Noc, Garcia, and JT more room to drive to the basket. Im not suggesting He shoots 3's all day, but if he's open he should shoot them, because he has that skill.

Jackson with the highlight save to Spencer!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the Pacers should probably not be looking to go to Roy Hibbert as their first offensive option.

In my best sing-song voice:

Travis Diener... is a wiener.

Sorry, I really tried not to do that...honest.

I didn't say I disagreed with you. ;)

Knowing our Brickie, however, and his feelings on the subject was the basis for my response.

I'll see your puppy and raise you a kitten.

No, centers should not shoot 3s, IMO.

WINNER! WINNER!! WINNER!!!

That is about the funniest post I have ever seen on this board. I was literally falling out of my chair. Thank you so much for sharing that.

Note: lest anyone think I have a problem with animals, or cats in particular, I have 2 cats myself. I am sure there was no intent to harm this kitten. It's just a joke.

This has gone horrifyingly wrong.

Not the game, this thread. It's like a train wreck. I suddenly... need to see more animals in bad places.

;)

Uhhhhh.... note to Bricklayer: NOT A THEME IDEA. VERY BAD THEME IDEA!
