It also cleared some salary cap relief a little earlier than otherwise. Neither Salmons or Miller had a future with the team, and both were taking time from the younger players. Yeah were stuck with Nocioni's contract, but we'd be stuck with Salmons contract too, although it was for less money. I wouldn't spend too much time wringing my hands over Mason. Its a one year contract, and you have to have someone on the roster. He at least adds a little toughness to a team that needs it.

who was salmons taking minutes from? miller i understand, we had hawes... but salmons? garcia was getting minutes, trading for nocioni wouldnt help your case for salmons because they play the same position.

I suspect that the Bulls wanted Salmons more than Miller. Who knows how trades finally come to pass. I think the Kings wanted to dump Miller, who basicly wasn't even showing up for the games. Who cares at this point. Nocioni has value and I'm sure that at some point he'll be moved.

The Thunder also have Kevin Durant who is a future superstar if he isnt already.
 
wow... sergio with 7 assists in 16 minutes... 7 for the game would be nice coming off the bench, but 7 in the first half? wow...
 
Listening on the Oklahoma feed. Kind of interesting. Good broadcasters. Very fair.. Good to see Sergio getting some minutes to see what he can do. Only one turnover in the half, I think, for the whole team. Nocioni having a good game. Greene doing a fair job guarding Durant. Good to see him contribute. Sergio is even shooting the ball well so far.

I agree, it looks like Westphal is trying to leave something in the tank for the starters. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but the ankle Martin tweeked is the same one that nagged him all of last year. Doesn't bode well for the future. It could become a chronic thing. :cool:
 
A ton of things to be happy about tonight so far.

Tyreke continues solid play
Casspi showing more and more each game
Nocioni finally got going
Greene playing within himself ( 3-3 FGA )
Sergio with 7 asst


Hawes continues to dissapoint.
 
Why is Durant still in the game while down 25 points? It's preseason, don't they have some rookie talent to evaluate?

Thunder however have the star. Unless Reke turns out to be the guy, they're still ahead until we find that guy.

As an aside, so now its Etan Thomas pushing Spencer around? :rolleyes:
 
durant is better than every player on our team but thats about it... sergio has 9 assists but 4 turnovers... im not watching or listening to the game, is he forcing it? gamecast just says bad pass, how bad of a pass is it? is it beno bad or steve nash bad? i dont know... because he has almost half of the teams turnovers. granted we only have 10 but 4 is almost half.
