This was a rare game where we nearly collapsed at the end. We're not used to teams doubling Fox and getting to body-check him like that. But we'll take the W any day!
This kind of horsepucky bodes well for the playoffs.
I will acknowledge refs called a foul they didn't have to at the end, but they really assisted in making it a one possession game to get there. And we still pulled through.
You can't tell me HCA isn't going to be a huge edge for the Kings, don't really care if they have a meh home record in the regular season. That place is going to break some NBA arena decibel records.
To be fair, he was probably just as shocked as we all were that the refs let the Clippers have a full 9 seconds in the backcourt rather than the typical 8
Most importantly, we put LAC in the dirt from *realistically* being able to catch us. Own the tie-breaker and now 6 games up on them and they have 16 games left to play.
Well that's the awful double-edged sword isn't it? They criticize the Kings for not making moves before the trade deadline now they'll make excuses for the clippers because they're working in new players.
Last few min sucked and they missed a lot of open threes. But, 53% overall, won the rebounding battle, 26-26 from the line, 26:11 ratio... "played like crap"? Nah.
Sabonis for All-NBA isn't even a hot take, considering that All-NBA still goes by position. Can anybody name three centers in the league this year that are better?
Sabonis saved the game - last 4 points from him.
Lyles was on fire, Fox did great too, Malik had great duo plays with Sabo, but not shooting, bench helped a lot.
Overal - win is a win despite some loopsides
I wouldn't even say that. The Kings had some shots go halfway down and out in the last 2 minutes, there were some very suspicious calls and no-calls from the refs which gave some momentum back to the Clippers, and Paul George is a good player and made tough baskets. Domas still had to hit those clutch free throws to take the lead and he made it look easy. This was probably the least stressful game I've watched all season after the Kings already proved over and over again in the last 2 weeks that they're an elite team and are capable of making big plays on both ends when it counts. Just my perspective.
