Remember that one time when we got completely embarrassed by the Rockets twice in a row and even Vinny "The Sauce" Basketballerino began to question the construction of our roster and overall offensive approach?
I would much rather we NOT substitute a lot of offense for virtually no offense at all.Since Mike Brown wants a true defensive squad, he should start:
Davion Mitchell
Keon Ellis
Kessler Edwards
Trey Lyles (when available)
Alex Len
This would solve all our defensive problems in one fell swoop. The scoring he can leave to the bench. It's all a matter of priorities.
Are they really that horrible? Rockets look like the hottest team in the nba, them or the wolvesIf we can beat OKC sans Fox we can beat the Cavs.
Those horrible Rockets losses still have me shook though haha.... prepared for anything tonight!
Let's go Kings!

I no longer feel bad about those losses to the Rockets. They are on a legit tear right now.If we can beat OKC sans Fox we can beat the Cavs.

One reason why Adelman's squads were top 1-2 in defensive FG% (the truest single measure of defensive effectiveness imo). This is what a lot of people don't understand. You can have the best defensive players on the planet on the floor, but if the offensive is turning the ball over or not hitting shots it won't matter because the other team will be in transition the whole game.
I really really really hope that Keon stays in the rotation with Fox back. Sry, Davion.
If management is anywhere near as deep into analytics as they appear - that +/- stat simply cannot be ignored.I really really really hope that Keon stays in the rotation with Fox back. Sry, Davion.

Was referring to the Adelman times - around 200 AD, roughly 275 years before the fall of Rome. Before the Rocks changed their name to the Rockets and moved from Petra to Houston.Where can I find that stat? In opponents' EFG%, the Kings are now 21st at 55.3%. The Timberwolves are first at 47.9%. I would be surprised if that lasts a whole season.
We have only played eight games. Currently, only six guys have a positive +- per 36 minutes (to compare starters with bench). Keon is sixth at +4.2 The worst three? Barnes (-5.1), Sabonis (-6.1), Mitchell (-13.5). I would give it another ten or twelve games to make any real comparisons.
Line jumped from Cavs -3.5 now to Kings -1.5. Points to Fox playing?
uh what? He's been like negative versatility on defense this year lol.
Offensively, he's honestly been mostly fine, outside this last game. Non-aggressive as usual, but been very very efficient virtually every game out there. It's the lack of lateral quickness defensively and the ability to stay with anyone on the perimeter that's been a real problem. It started showing a bit last year, but it's been god awful this year
Yeah, I wouldn't mind coach Brown starting Trey Lyles at the stretch 4 when he gets back and healthy. HB off the bench as the backup SF/PF makes a lot of sense.
