Figured I'd start this early so people would realize it's a Sunday matinee.

GO KINGS!

Welcome to your first home game as Sacramento Kings, Rudy, Quincy and Aaron!

I'll be there with bells on. Wouldn't it be nice if this new team proved that Friday's performance was an anomaly. If so it would go a long ways towards starting a four-games- in- five-nights road trip on the right foot.

Tough game the Rockets are very strong defensively at points where we are good offensively, Beverly is close to the best PG on D, Chandler Parsons defends well @ SF and Cousins/Dwight is always one or both getting into foul trouble cause of each other. To make things even tougher Harden will play zero D on Mclemore who has to make shots and that match up is a massive nightmare.

If we can get Dwight out of the way there frontline is very thin with mainly stretch 4's and Terrance Jones, but yeah tough night this one and with the way team's shoot 3's against us could be killer. This is a game where we must play high IQ basketball since the Rockets collectively don't defend much you can score on them.

I'm not sure that I'd consider 3 pm "morning" ;),..but yeah, it does seem like there's more afternoon games instead of evening on Sundays

I'll be attending my first Kings game this afternoon with my g/f! (I sucked her into Kings culture hehe.) I'm hoping for a great experience--hopefully parking and entry isn't too bad or hard to figure out :X

I'm not positive but I think this might be an attempt by the league to reach out to families for Sunday games.

I'm guessing it's mostly for us lowly international fans.

also, pretty sure that William Blake is right, there seems to be an inordinate number of Sunday quasi-matinées for the Kings. likely, the new ownership group was interested in promoting/establishing the Kings brand in international markets and the league did them a favour. too bad that the time difference between PST and India is unmanageable.

Well, all I know is that I'm seeing a lot of advertising for the family special ticket packs. Who knows? It could be a combination of a lot of things. At least it's not conflicting with my NINERS! :)

GUARD SOMEBODY!!!

You obviously don't know how basketball works. The team that scores the most points wins the game. If you're wasting energy playing defense, it means you have less energy to score on the other end. Thus it can be deduced that in order to score the maximum amount of points, you must not guard anybody. Then, and only then, will you win games.

You're welcome,

Looking forward to Boogie vs Dwight. Could end up being a big statement game for him. Dwight is the likely starter for the west. If Boogie comes out strong tonight, (30-15?) and keeps his numbers up, just an another notch for him to get an all-star bid

I completely agree that was my initial starting lineup after the rudy trade

Me too. I think Ben himself was much more comfortable with a bench role, and it is only December, it is not like we'd be pushing back his development by giving him (good) minutes off the bench. He played better off the bench, and it worked out that way again, it'd help Ben, Williams, and the Kings overall.

Checking in,

At Phoenix,

* The Kings turned the ball over a lot in the third quarter, which let the Suns have a lot of free fastbreak points, but the Kings weathered that storm.
* Rudy Gay didn't box out. The team gave up some offensive rebounds in the 4th, and it was really all Rudy Gay's fault. He didn't box out anybody. It was his first game so I forgive him.
* Travis Outlaw is an awful defender. Quincy Acy should get his minutes.
* On too many loose ball/broken plays IT always forgets that he has to guard someone.

What do we want out of this game? I think the team is understandably in a bit of a state of confusion with 3 bonafied scorers among the starters and a rookie who seems to have lost his way. I even can understand why Ben is having problems. He's never played at this level, tight? Anyway, I want to see how the starters get along. No matter what the impulse may be, Cousins is still the man.

I am very curious what will happen at the backup pg position as we actually don't have anyone skilled enough to play the part. I am guessing we will make do and the bench players will suck as we see if IT can play over 40 minutes game after game unless there is a trade in the works which is what I suspect. I cannot imagine the trade for Rudy went down without a trade for an experienced pg coming our way whether he be great or not.

Some people don't like that we should look ahead to the draft but the least expensive rim protector or pg can be had in the draft no matter where we end up assuming we don't make the post season. I have a little faith in PD'A as he is supposed to be skilled at managing the cap and you don't simply load up on every expensive player out there. I think McCallum was part of the plan as we have options on him that cover 4 years. Whether he is adequate enough is yet to be known but I think someone thought he was worth a small investment. He needs to be worked in gently and not just thrown to the wolves as was Ben.

I am not up to having any fits over the play of anyone. This will be the second game they are together. Even NBA players need to know their team mates.

Watching Grant interview Aaron Gray, I think he will really be a big help on the team. Love a guy who not only is willing to set screens, but loves to do so. :)
