Kings @ Suns game discussion

I'm worried that in this organization our young players will have their development stunted from terrible outings like this
This is my biggest fear and I'm afraid to say I see the growth of our youngins getting stunted. Donte looks terrible out there :(

this is probably one of the lowest points in Kings history, no fan support, future is distant, arena troubles, economic troubles, players have quit...

my main concern with this team is the defense. Even horrible teams find a way to be competitive by playing defense. This team lacks defensive discipline and it shows each game.

And when this was predicted by some who didn't want to "tank," the comment was that it was okay, that it would turn around when the front office made some moves, got some good players back, etc.

At this point, we have to pray those who argued FOR doing poorly to get the best draft pick are correct because if they're not it's gonna be a very long dry spell for the Kings ... and the fans.

I have to question if Petrie is doing anything to make this team better. Seeing the Kings get their a** stomped is beyond embarrassing.

It wouldn't surprise me if Coachie just says "No thanks, I don't need this kind of stress at my age"

Oh no ... they don't get a pass. With the exception of Jason Thompson, it's been a suckfest by pretty much everyone wearing a Kings uniform. Our young players aren't playing the game for the first time. They should know the fundamentals of basketball. They must not, though, because they're certainly not showing them.

Sorry, but this is a collective embarrassment.

I can remember when the Kings used to be the laughing stock of the NBA. Up until tonight, I had managed to put the actual feelings out of my mind. After this, though, there are no words they can say to undo what happened tonight.

No wonder the Suns are laughing.

Ditto!!! I thought that horribly unfortunate era of being a Kings fan was gone but apparently not. This feels so much like I just watched Randy Breur start on opening night.

Its one thing to suck but its far worse to play with no heart, dedication, etc. A lot of respect to Thompson. Everyone else (including the young guys everyone is desperate to get on the court) should be ashamed of themselves.

Hate to say it but time for Geoff to go.

well. now i'll always be thankful towards douby for something.

thanks for keeping it under 50.

some of the +/-'s of the game are pretty hilarious. amare +49...wonder if he'll ever top that

That, and the offense. Other than those, they're pretty good.

Sheesh. A 1:2 Assist to TO ratio? Are you kidding me? How can heads not roll after a loss like this?

Geoff's got a lifetime appointment, we are fresh out of coaches to fire, and the players manage to lower their trade value nightly.

Hey, you asked. :p

I know! Well, thinking positively, at least Natt knows Donte is on the roster. Good job!

I know these losses can help the Kings, we're all probably hoping for a good lottery pick and losing helps with that but this kind of game just hurts my heart. I really hope there's a big, bright star at the end of this road.

That is one thing I can't wrap my head around. Things aren't working out. Players who are considered better, more experienced, etc are LOSING big time, so why can't Donte get on the floor? It's obvious the Kings aren't going to win no matter who is out there, so why not play him?

Because right now he's one of the worst players on the court and doesn't always seem to know where he is or what to do. Now I get the potential argument but he needs to earn playing time by hustling, making smart plays, etc. Right now he just stands around and jacks up shots.

How is that any different than any other King?

First off, once again that seems to apply to many other Kings. The second thing is that maybe he wouldn't just jack up shots if he got some time outside garbage minutes in a game already decided.

It shows you how bad things have been and how unhappy long time fans have been if someone like sign lady isn't around anymore
She's still around. I saw her during the recent homestand. Hey, there are still some of us here on this board, sharing our misery and hoping our team manages to find the way again. In my lifetime would be nice. ;)
