we could start bobby at the 2 and keep house..... or we could still get hart and.... sampson to be millers back up..... either way our bench would be much better, maybe we could have somehow kept evans..... i dont know, but anything is better than what we have now....

Due to Sacramento and Washington being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Sacramento and Washington had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I think they would/can help, and from what I've gathered on them (not just above, from watching them too), not going to change on that.

I'd obviously rather a trade, but that doesn't seem too likely.
 
Washington would laugh at us. But it would reestablish some of my faith in Petrie to at least cheat people (if this should happen) even if he can't make a balanced overall product.

That's what is so sad. Our starters are becoming a very good team and would win a lot of games with ANY contribution from our bench.

Our starters are REALLY beginning to get into the groove as far as knowing each other's strengths and weaknesses. Had Peja not had his finger "Fortsonized" - kudos to the originator of that phrase BTW - we might be celebrating a nice victory.

Yes, our bench is ... well, let's just say there's plenty of room for growth and improvement.

And you know what? I find some comfort in that. A good GM can FIND ways to fix a bench. There are players out there that might just fit the bill.

I would be much more worried if our starters weren't improving. They are...and I'm going to keep some hope and faith that Petrie does, in fact, have a plan to get us something good to come off the bench. (And no - I still don't want Spre.)
 
Tough game to lose but I don't think you can blame any one person for the loss. I just hope through more experience together that these guys will be able to cut down on the turnovers.

The bench is becoming a real issue here. I figured Rick would look to find a way to use his bench as defenders/rebounders, but its looking like he is trying to find someone off the bench to be a "Bobby Jackson", which will not happen with this bunch.

Maybe something does need to be done as far as trades and what not. I don't really know.

This is true. I just hope that Petrie realizes that this current bench is probably not capable of the growth and improvement by themselves. An addition, with some deletions, is necessary...and soon. This problem will only catch up to us the longer we let it fester. Lack of bench production means more minutes for the starters. And I think you all know what that means...the dreaded "I" word...
 
Whether it's signing a FA or swining a deal, something has to be done and I'm confident that it will get done. The current situation with our bench right now is not acceptable. RA has a history of playing an 8-9 man rotation and I think that if we can bring in someone to solidify the 2/3 spot then we should be OK. KT, Hart and someone other than Martin would be a decent 8 man rotation. I really think that KT will find his niche and provide some spark off the bench. However, to depend on Martin is death. The West is too loaded at the 2/3 that we can't depend on Martin to guard those guys or play offense against them (Allen, Kobe, Manu, McGrady, Carmello, Mobley, Magette, Richardson, Daniels, Howard, etc).

My wife likes the Kings and watches the game and I think that tonight she had her best comment of the season so far: With respect to Martin..."He looks like he's scared." Not to mention lost.

Lynch and White play KT's position (and worse, obviously). Griffin and Lopez are worse than Martin. I thought Person retired. But maybe not. Lucious Harris is about the same as Martin. If Person can still go, sure. I had him in my washed up pile. Didn't even know he was still on the market.

Ok forget Garcia throw in Kevin Martin. I dont think we really need Kevin. Now the trade has some value. :D
 
I would like to point out that while Ray Allen pretty much made mincemeat of Kevin, he (Kevin) did stick with him. Time after time, I saw him with a hand up in Allen's face... It just didn't do much good. And that's where we have a problem IMHO. There are a LOT of really tough 2 guards out there, as someone else pointed out a while back, and there aren't a lot of guys that could be effective against them. There was one, but he's back in Seattle visiting a doctor to see if he'll even be able to play this season or not...

What do you guys think about that? Washington gets Kenny who knows their offense now(they run same as us), can start, can rebound, etc. to play next to jamison, garcia who has a lot of upside, and a pick. In exchange the kings get Jarvis Hayes who is real athletic and can score some points, an exp contract for some cap room, rid of kenny's bad deal, and we get jeffries who can defend a bit and has a decent all around game. Chucky Atkins is better for us than Hart, Hart's D seems inconsistent. Sometimes is good, sometimes it's not much better than bibby's and all he can do is defend. Atkins can atleast score a little bit. What you guys think???:)

KT backs up SAR though (mainly). Lynch/White would back-up at SF, giving us an actual back-up SF, instead of KT sometimes, Corliss rarely, and Garcia's a rook (as much as I like him).

Disgaree on Griffin and Lopez and Harris. I like 'em.

If Corliss can't get minutes at SF, what makes you think Lynch/White will?

Well, we can disagree on who's marginally better. But I doubt you're claiming it's enough to solve our bench troubles? You think bringing in one, heck any number of those vets will make the diff? We need a trade or our current guys to earn back their minutes. I'm surprised that KT can't even get 20 minutes a game.
