Kings Sign Bobby Brown

well I hope we will sign Singletary too...

We've already signed him to a typical partially-guaranteed second round pick deal.

Given that we were looking for another player to compete at PG in camp, I'm glad we're taking a chance on one that could have some upside, rather than The J-Will Option or some other such retreadery.

Honestly, I don't know much about him, but it sounds like he earned himself a shot.

I was going to say something, but you beat me to it! :D

I'm very happy to see this. He played as a kid at a park league I used to work for, he and his dad were real cool people. I was dissappointed when he wasn't drafted last year I hope he works out better than another local point gaurd that grew up around my area ........Jason Hart:eek:

GREAT SIGNING! all signs are pointing to a solid, young, full of potential, back up point guard... sean s. might be a good player down the line maybe even this year... but Brown put up really good numbers and led his team to a euro title. so he's got obviously more experience... plus he did really light it up in the summer league... Im very surprised we were able to sign him...

HE TURNED DOWN MILLIONS IN EUROPE, AND OFFERS FROM OTHER NBA TEAMS, TO PLAY FOR THE KINGS! ! ! I LOVE THIS GUY ALREADY!

This is a great pick up, wow! Marc Stein has been raving about him, DraftExpress has said some good things about him. He's not going to be a star but this is a guy who is athletic, has proven he wants to work hard, learn the game and learn his position. I like this kind of move better than a veteran for the MLE.

I don't want to be hard on Douby but this is not looking good for him. He's not going to find any minutes at the 2 and they're adding another guy to get the chance to prove himself at the 1.

Nothing too long term there. Who knows what we'll look like after the long awaited '10 offseason

nbadraft.net has him at 6"1 while draft express has him at 6"3 lol i dont know if im looking at the same guy but who knows, so any body got a link on what experts say bout him?

this deal probably sealed Ewing Jr.s fate of not making the team...

Might mean that someone else is going, too... if not someone like Douby or Shelden as part of a trade, then Singletary might get cut. Geoff seems most comfortable with a roster of 14, and we're already there without signing Singletary.

assuming SAR retires then were back to 13 and we can sign Singletary... take into consideration that we are going to be moving artest and most likely KT along with him well see where the guy goes

right now we have 2 potential young points lets see how they pan out

I don't know where you got your info, but all your putting down is the guaranteed years. For instance, Hawes has four years left on his contract but the 2nd and 3rd years are a team option. The fourth year is a qualifing offer. Moore only has one more year guaranteed, with a team option on the next. Thompsons contract is similar to Hawes. He has 5 years left with team options on two of the years and a qualifing offer in the last.

weve already got a Body Guard KT and we pay him 18 mil for the next 2 years... lol hes going to be in a suit for 164 games straight lol (and more if we get to the playoffs)

Bobby Brown 15.2 pts/ 6.3 ast/ 3.2 rebs during the summer league is VERY impressive.

Some quotes about the REAL Bobby Brown, from Draftnet.com:

He has more than enough quickness and athleticism, but he finally showed the ability to confidently run a team.

He gets into the lane with regularity and from there he makes good decisions, either drawing the defender and finding an open teammate, or simply scoring the ball himself at the hoop or with a midrange pull up.

He logged a large number of minutes and had the ball in his hands for a large portion of the games, so the fact that he kept his turnovers to 2.2 per game is very impressive.

... he could make a very solid backup even if it is in a very limited role.

Very nice addition for a very low cost:D

Who knew that an undrafted free agent had the ability to arouse a fanbase in such a manner? Please, please make the team!
