Monk as Starter

I have faith in Monk as starting point guard and think he is the teams best bet (at least for the remainder of this season). His new role is not an easy one to adjust to. Prior to this the only thing he had to focus on was getting himself buckets. He pretty much had an entire shot clock to himself. Now he needs to learn when he should to set up the offense vs when to defer to Sabonis, when he does defer where does he go that he's not in the way of Lavine and DD, when should he look for Lavine and DD over his own shot etc, etc. No player on this team has had their role change as much as Monk and I think he will need the most time to get acclimated.

For real. Backup SG to starting PG in a season is a huge role change.

Get the man some more practices and I think it's a safe bet that he'll start balling out again soon.
