I don't understand why he didn't shoot that. He made a great move to get open, had the open layup... and for whatever reason tried to dish it off.

It is fascinating. He has 9 assists and 0 turnovers but watching the game I'd say he's done a poor job of running the team

the kings' starting SG is a rookie who can't handle the ball. therefore isaiah thomas initiates the offense nearly 100% of the time he's on the court, and he's on the court a lot these days. i think rudy gay could probably share some of the playmaking responsibility, but thomas' assist numbers are inflated since taking over the starting spot in the same way that greivis vasquez's assist numbers were inflated in new orleans... because there's kinda no one else who can handle the ball.

Even if we lose (and we are not in a season where winning is a necessity) I am proud with competing nightly against the best, it is building character and foundation. All other lottery teams wouldn't go toe to toe with heat, spurs, rockets like this.

he can, indeed, and i've long considered those impressive numbers to be fool's gold. i am certainly more impressed by thomas' skill as displayed this season, of course, but i still view him as an electric young talent with a sixth man's ceiling.
