Here are some deals that I put together on... NBA2K10 and ESPN Trade Machine and it really made sense for all teams.
Kings/Wolves Trade:
Hawes, JT, Kenny Thomas to Wolves = $12.5M
Al Jefferson to Kings = $12M
You might think "Why do the Wolves do that trade?" Well the Wolves drop $8M off the books next season and get 2 young front court players with some NBA experience. The Kings get a much needed big man that can score and rebound that has 4 years on his deal and will get to play with some of the best young players in Reke and Casspi.
Kings/Mavs Trade:
Kevin Martin, Ime Udoka to Mavs = $10.5M
Josh Howard, Tim Thomas, 1st Rnd Pick = $11.6M
The Kings get a starting SF/SG Howard for the rest of the season and a bench warmer PF in Thomas and they both come off the books (basically covers Jeffersons contract) along with a draft pick. The Mavs get an additional scorer that they so desperatly have been seeking and a defensive SF off the bench that can help them in the playoffs.
So you think, what? Why do the Kings give up 4 young player in total for 1 player and a draft pick. Well that is an easy answer, ROOM! They need to make room for the younger players like Casspi, Reke, Greene to play full time and even a player like Garcia (cheap player that can play) that needs to get back on the floor. Just look at the lineup after a trade like this.
C - Jefferson/Armstrong
PF - Brockman/Mays/Thomas
SF - Howard/Casspi/Greene
SG - Reke/Garcia/Noc
PG - Beno/Garcia
I know, not the best of lineups but it does get a bit tougher and a better rotation. I think getting Noc out of the lineup would be great but I haven't worked on that trade, ha!
The Lineup for next year would be something like this with expiring contracts.
C - Jefferson/Armstrong
PF - Brockman/Noc
SF - Casspi/Greene
SG - Reke/Garcia
PG - Beno
The teams would have 2 first rnd picks and a 2nd and money to sign a PF to the team along with a backup or starting PG/SG.
Well thats my bs, thank you!
