Here are some deals that I put together on... NBA2K10 and ESPN Trade Machine and it really made sense for all teams.

Kings/Wolves Trade:
Hawes, JT, Kenny Thomas to Wolves = $12.5M
Al Jefferson to Kings = $12M

You might think "Why do the Wolves do that trade?" Well the Wolves drop $8M off the books next season and get 2 young front court players with some NBA experience. The Kings get a much needed big man that can score and rebound that has 4 years on his deal and will get to play with some of the best young players in Reke and Casspi.

Kings/Mavs Trade:
Kevin Martin, Ime Udoka to Mavs = $10.5M
Josh Howard, Tim Thomas, 1st Rnd Pick = $11.6M

The Kings get a starting SF/SG Howard for the rest of the season and a bench warmer PF in Thomas and they both come off the books (basically covers Jeffersons contract) along with a draft pick. The Mavs get an additional scorer that they so desperatly have been seeking and a defensive SF off the bench that can help them in the playoffs.

So you think, what? Why do the Kings give up 4 young player in total for 1 player and a draft pick. Well that is an easy answer, ROOM! They need to make room for the younger players like Casspi, Reke, Greene to play full time and even a player like Garcia (cheap player that can play) that needs to get back on the floor. Just look at the lineup after a trade like this.

C - Jefferson/Armstrong
PF - Brockman/Mays/Thomas
SF - Howard/Casspi/Greene
SG - Reke/Garcia/Noc
PG - Beno/Garcia

I know, not the best of lineups but it does get a bit tougher and a better rotation. I think getting Noc out of the lineup would be great but I haven't worked on that trade, ha!

The Lineup for next year would be something like this with expiring contracts.

C - Jefferson/Armstrong
PF - Brockman/Noc
SF - Casspi/Greene
SG - Reke/Garcia
PG - Beno

The teams would have 2 first rnd picks and a 2nd and money to sign a PF to the team along with a backup or starting PG/SG.

Well thats my bs, thank you!

So down grade the starters to get unknown Hilton to start, deplete the bench and get rid of our best scoring vet..........Why? Seems to me to set back GP's work several more years and eliminate a core of our kids and this helps us us how after this year?

No.

I don't care how frustrating Hawes and JT can be, we can only afford to lose one of them, and that's if we can get better at both positions. Not ditch both and only get one big man in return. Wolves already have front court depth anyways, Martin would be a better fit there and we would move him without taking on more guys at the 2/3 where we are already too crowded. And frankly I think Jefferson is better off at the 4.

So, basically what you're saying is - stop the rebuilding. Let's get rid of two of our young guys (Hawes and JT) and send two of our other young guys (Casspi, Green) deep into the bench until the end of the season, to end up with a big man rotation of Jefferson, Armstron, Noc, and Brock? Ummm, I say pass...

No thanks to Howard. Has anyone actually watched him play recently? I've seen him a few times since the marijuana incident, and each time he looked completely lost...throwing up airballs, fumbling passes, and driving to the basket and losing the ball. He can still put up decent stats, but he is one sloppy player from what I've seen of him recently (which admittedly, isn't much)

Maybe they just need to get him some nachos and he'll be fine :D

maybe some jelly doughnuts, those always hit the spot for me... the plus side to living near a dunkin donuts...

holy crap, we send both our young front court players AND our biggest expiring for big al?? holy smokes! thats just too much for him. i don't know if he's the answer down low.......

I'm sorry but this is terrible.

I dont think people see the big picture.

1. You get a big man that is one of the most dominate in the league
2. You free up cap space to sign a player like Rudy Gay that is a free agent in 10-11
3. You can run Reke at the point and Casspi as a 2 with a player like Gay and Jefferson along with your 2 draft picks in the mix
4. You still have Greene and Nocioni which never hurts
5. Winning is key and that team could win a lot of games and play some D

So you see, it maybe be dumb and blah blah but in the big picture its a great move

C - TBD/1st Rnd Pick
PF - Jefferson/Brockman/1st Rnd Pick
SF - Gay/Greene/Noc
SG - Casspi/Garcia/2nd Rnd Pick
PG - Reke/Beno

That would be the ideal situation and a winning combo

I must agree that it sounds stupid but it could work based on the cap room we're creating.
