I mean, silver lining. Demar was nearly unstoppable and as long as we have him, Fox and Monk, we can never say a game is over...I mean as an nba fan that was great entertainment. I’m choosing to just tip my hat to bron for that spectacular run.
we are a good team that is clear.
unfortunately, this is going to be the west all year, just a bunch of dog fights every night. Going to be super draining if we don’t keep a level head as fans.
Just considering the momentum of the game, the Kings also probably win had AD not hit a random fall away three off of one foot with Domas literally slamming into him (which surprisingly didn’t get called as a foul).
To Sactownkid's point, maybe our grinder team is perfect for such a competitive west division in the long run.unfortunately, this is going to be the west all year, just a bunch of dog fights every night. Going to be super draining if we don’t keep a level head as fans.
Yep…that was the final nail of many nails in the coffin tonight.Just considering the momentum of the game, the Kings also probably win had AD not hit a random fall away three off of one foot with Domas literally slamming into him (which surprisingly didn’t get called as a foul).
That's not what I meant. I refer to the second-half minutes where at least some of the starters rest, usually at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth quarters. The bench has to hold on to that lead until the closing squad is back on the court.
We got Mr. Slim talking about silver linings? I didn't think things were that bad. Now, I'm concerned.:: #SilverLining mode engaged ::
Six players in double figures, shot over fifty percent from the field, had an acceptable performance from three-point range, shot decent at the free throw line, held their own in the paint, won the turnover battle, pushed or won on every counting stat, except one.
:: End #SilverLining mode ::
... But, oh brother, that one!
So the 10 minutes that Davis wasn't on the floor the Lakers had a +26.
On a bright note I liked Domas in the offense, and that mini run DDR did all by himself in the 4th. Also 2nd match with Fox dishing 10+ assists. The weak link in both matches so far was Lyles, not himself in defense, missed several open shots in offense, the two man game he tried to play with Len twice was... catastrophic. But who can replace him as a power forward? Keegan and DDR staying on the floor with... dunno Keon playing at 3 (or with 3 guards?). Him and Huerter getting straight back to the action without taking part in training/preseason might have not been the wisest thing to do.
Wait till you see SLAB's comment... lolWe got Mr. Slim talking about silver linings? I didn't think things were that bad. Now, I'm concerned.![]()
Probably should but with DeRozan the Kings playing at a slower pace is very much more doable than years prior.
It's only one game, but Huerter was -29 in 26 minutes and Monk +20 in 28 minutes. Kevin shot well and had some deflections, but golly, why is the team worse when he is on the court?

I think moreso Demar is clearly scoring at will in the 4th depends on what the defense is giving him. Also, another positive, Demar looks pretty good on those pull up threes at the top of the key. Super small sample size but that pull up has a rhythm to it that is similar to his mid range, maybe that’s his spot?
I think the near comeback at the end of the game does sort of point towards the bigger picture of the team with DDR, Fox, and Malik all pretty much having their way with their single defender because no one dares double-team off of Fox or Deebo taking turns giving the other team nightmares. And as Mr Slim pointed out earlier, Fox has become a better PG. On the flip side of the coin, that means he's much better at picking and choosing his spots now that we have all the weapons. So if this is indeed a grind-to-win-by-2 kind of team, you'd want Fox of all people to be fresh enough all season and not like the last 2 seasons where he was visibly drained out by February...

Yeah back in the days, we usually have to rely on Fox alone to carry us. Even Domas got a habit of saying, "oh wait till 4th and Fox will carry us."I think the near comeback at the end of the game does sort of point towards the bigger picture of the team with DDR, Fox, and Malik all pretty much having their way with their single defender because no one dares double-team off of Fox or Deebo and taking turns giving the other team nightmares.
There are like three teams in the league with the personnel capable of slowing that lineup down when it has any sort of momentum and even then I’m not sure it’d be particularly easy for the Celtics, Knicks, or Thunder to do so.

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not that Demar can’t shoot threes, it’s just that he doesn’t feel like it because it’s not aesthetically pleasing to watch. His spot is clutch, haha.
Keegan has done admirably in that role so far but he's only one guy and he's going to get beat up if he's got to bang with PF's and C's every game.
It would have been called as a foul if AD missed that shot.Just considering the momentum of the game, the Kings also probably win had AD not hit a random fall away three off of one foot with Domas literally slamming into him (which surprisingly didn’t get called as a foul).
That and Monk is just so much better paired with Fox.It's only one game, but Huerter was -29 in 26 minutes and Monk +20 in 28 minutes. Kevin shot well and had some deflections, but golly, why is the team worse when he is on the court?
Bro grew up idolizing Kobe. He also had said many times (in numerous podcasts) that it's not that he couldn't shoot the 3 but when the defense collapse it's always easier to get to his go-to spot with the 40+% shot in mid range.I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not that Demar can’t shoot threes, it’s just that he doesn’t feel like it because it’s not aesthetically pleasing to watch.

He also had the misfortune of being on the floor to start the game and during the start of the fourth quarter. In the first quarter, he was surprisingly our best defender but in the fourth quarter stretch it’d be hard to say that he really helped matters (Although I do wish we had tried harder to get him a look at the basket once the momentum began to shift).Because he is not a good 1v1 defender
I do not hate Kevin Huerter. I just do not believe he has earned a starter's role, particularly after missing all of preseason except for one scrimmage. But as other posters have pointed out, Mike Brown is loyal to a fault.
As for tonight, he was on the court during both the 12-0 and 14-0 runs. Maybe it's just a coincidence.
