Ellis never played huh?
If we can't beat the Blazers, there's a bigger problem in and of itself than a losing streak.Third game of the season is kind of early for a "must win," but the Kings cannot afford to dig themselves any deeper a hole.
Specially, with no wins in preseason. I never worry about individual losses in preseason, but the team has no momentum right now. That’s part of why.Third game of the season is kind of early for a "must win," but the Kings cannot afford to dig themselves any deeper a hole.
Kings started 0-4 two seasons ago and 2-4 last season with their only wins being an OT game against the Lakers in which De’Aaron literally sacrificed his lef to get the W and the Jazz, who were only moderately interested in winning.Third game of the season is kind of early for a "must win," but the Kings cannot afford to dig themselves any deeper a hole.
Keon getting 0 minutes is criminal, was he hurt or sick?
Wow i didn’t even realize smhKeon getting 0 minutes is criminal, was he hurt or sick?
I ask this is all seriousness but how would playing Keon have slowed down LeBron going supernova in the 4th?Keon getting 0 minutes is criminal, was he hurt or sick?

21 of those happened before the Kings even scored a bucket of their own.44 points allowed in the 4th. SMH
Yeah, I am not necessarily panicking quite yet. We just lost to two "quality" opponents. Let's hold up on hitting that panic button until we have a chance to see how we do against inferior competition (I am looking at you, Portland and Utah).Kings started 0-4 two seasons ago and 2-4 last season with their only wins being an OT game against the Lakers in which De’Aaron literally sacrificed his lef to get the W and the Jazz, who were only moderately interested in winning.
Slow starts are sort of a theme with the Mike Brown Kings.

Unbelievable.21 of those happened before the Kings even scored a bucket of their own.
No one is even asking for him to be starting or playing significant minute here.I ask this is all seriousness but how would playing Keon have slowed down LeBron going supernova in the 4th?
Look, we don’t know what goes on in practice or who’s hurt or sick or whatnot. Keon was in the rotation in the first game and not for the second game. One game does not a pattern make. Not saying he would turn the game but no minutes from him is suspect no?
The Kings had a seven point lead going into the 4th with all the momentum. How much help are we thinking he’d provide exactly? No one is even asking for him to be starting or playing significant minute here.
But you tell me he couldn't have helped all game?
Nope. And it's not like Huerter or Monk played poorly or anything -- I think they both had very good games. We've just seen this story before. The Kings need to find an identity on defense and I think we've already seen their best with this rotation in Mike Brown's first two seasons. Swapping DDR for HB might buy us a couple wins but personally, my hopes for this season and beyond lay on the backs of guys like Keon Ellis and Devin Carter bringing a new level of defensive intensity to this team.
Carter obviously can't be in the rotation while he's injured but when he does get healthy he'll need minutes for his defense to impact the game. And the same goes for Ellis. I thought we were going to see Ellis in the starting lineup and Huerter getting minutes at SF this season but after the first two games I don't see how Ellis or Carter is even going to even crack the rotation without a Kevin Huerter trade.
The entire 4th quarter is a bit too long of a stretch to play keep away to nurse a single-digit lead.It was the Lakers' 14-0 run at the start of the quarter that did us in. Huerter, Murray, Fox, and DeRozan were on the floor. Sabonis and Monk were on the bench. By the time they came back in, the Kings were down seven.
Look, I think the Kings played well overall, but there is one big flaw in Coach Brown's philosophy, which was very evident last season as also in this game: when his team has a lead, he does not put all his best defenders on the court to protect it and burn up the clock.
Ok at this point unless we go back play by play, we are just trying to nitpick each other's comments. The Kings had a seven point lead going into the 4th with all the momentum. How much help are we thinking he’d provide exactly?
