This is a treat. Usually you have to stay up late to listen to a Deuce and Morgan cope session.
Obviously, They lost the game in the first 5 minutes of the fourth. The rebounding was bad all game too. The defense had good stretches. Outside of a few breakdowns I thought the defense was good.
You can’t do nothing about what LeBron did to start the quarter..but they could’ve made a couple of baskets. Even a pathetic 21-4 run the Kings probably still win the game. But no points is a killer.
Mike is the king of the immediate timeout to start a quarter but he was very slow on the draw to start the fourth when the momentum was obvious at 6-0 not just from the Lakers swagger but the Kings aimlessness.
Anyway…I’m very comfortable with our starters. Whether you have Huerter or Keon in there. The team is going to be fine because their starting lineup is extremely good.
What I’m not happy with..and wasn’t happy with at the end of the offseason was the Kings bench and how really nothing was done outside of drafting an injured player who might not help us this season.
They will hold the team back if not fixed. It’s not an issue with the individual talent. Obviously we have one of the best reserves in Monk but the bench the bench has zero stylistic diversity. Negligible athleticism and matchup flexibility..and if Monk has an average or sub par night. No offense.
It doesn’t really matter how the bench is used either. It’s just not very good and the Kings aren’t deep.
Monte needs to raise his preference to 6’8 and long and athletic instead of 6’5 and athletic.
But I can’t believe he entered the season with the bench as is.
Oh well, on to the next.
Great game by Domas and I liked how DeMar had his time to blow up instead of us going to him all game like Minny. I liked the more “souped up Barnes” role for him as
@SLAB put it
