[Game] Kings @ Heat - 11/19/15 - 4:30 PST, 7:30 EST

I have quit watching the broadcast. Someone else will have to see if the tally changes yet again. ;)

The only thing missing from Napear's coverage was notifying Kings Nation that Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.

Collison solely responsible for Tyler Johnson's 19pts. I swore he had 15 of those in the 2nd quarter alone. Terrible defense, and chucked up unnecessary shots in the 2nd unit. Almost IT-LITE

WCS was terrible on defense tonight. Stoudemire, Whiteside, and Bosh took turns trampling on him.

Rudy was pretty selfish in the beginning of the game, but loosened up as it went on.

It's a love-hate relationship with Casspi...I think it was right in the middle tonight.

Ben had an overall nice game, although he was probably blocked on all of his misses.

Belinelli finally exploded today..and my god, it was beautiful.

Rondo had a great game...but it can't just be a 1 man show.

In general, there's two trains of thought from this game and ATL.

One, it looks like we're about to drop two completely winnable games in a playoff chase where we need any win possible. And we have no one to blame but ourselves for this.

Or two, we flat out didn't play near our ceiling last night and could have beaten a top East team, then tonight without our future HOFer, we're again not far off from beating a pretty decent Mia squad.

I kind of float between the two given it's only Nov.

This is a good point. It's too early in the season for pessimism. Ben is improving game by game, Cousins is knocking down threes at over 40% (!!) while simultaneously pushing his FTA to a career best 11.1 per game, Rondo is in All-Star form, Rudy on a bad day is still one of the best SFs in the league. There have been some tough losses along the way but with two notable exceptions early in the year, we've been competitive in every game we've played. Sure would be nice to turn some of these almost-wins into actual wins, but there's a lot to be happy about regardless. There's a playoff team there if they can manage to stay healthy and cut back on the silly mistakes.

That was exactly my point.

being a mean disrespectful prickly S.O.B. has nothing to do with not winning.

You're missing the point. If you're a prick and you win then you can get away with it. DMC hasn't won more than 29 games and he seems to make others around him play worse than they should. It's time for him to suck it up and start acting like a man and not a little boy.

We win this if Cousins plays, your best player can't put us in these situations.
I agree. He needs to step up and apologize to his teammates. If he's the leader of this team, then that's what he should do.

You don't force your teammates to go out there and play single-handily without you.

We needed our best player on the floor tonight, but he decided to let his emotions get the best of him. You can't do this as the leader of a losing team. You can't afford to do this. All of the players are behind Cousins. They all are.

As talented as he is, I'd take a less talented version of him with a better attitude.

After 13 games, I think:
1 - We should just play 2 passes or less and back to Rondo kind of plays on offense. That means if your get a second pass and you can't shoot it, give it back to Rondo without even dribbling. That'll simplify the plays and make the play more efficient.
2 - Rudy, Rondo, and Karl needs to talk real hard coz Rudy is clearly struggling to be an efficient scorer again. Go with high percentage shots or pass and nothing else.
3 - DMC is fine, a lot of the Portland Jailblazers made long careers in the NBA. DMC is nowhere near those guys esp. off the court.

Totally agree on that point (as well as the others).

Demarcus does TONS of stuff in the community (both here, in Kentucky and in his hometown) and has NEVER to my knowledge done anything "off the court" to cause anybody any problems.

Look, I've disproven, conclusively, your basic premise so many times, in so many different settings, you might as well just start off an argument saying "You're missing a point, the earth seems to be flat and so..."

DeMarcus Cousins has won 29 games or fewer solely and 100% because his teammates suck, and he's gotten hurt/sick. His impact stats are enormous. Some of the biggest in the league. Whatever the situation was when he was a rookie, its been years since he had any head hanging to do about our record. Its been a crap situation. put Tim Duncan here, he's in a crap situation. Put Marc Gasol here, then he's in a crap situation.

And of course very few physical big guys play 82. He could have been out tonight with a sprained ankle. This situation has been ridiculosu for years. Many of the league's stars play on teams that go .500 even when they're not out there. Not Cuz. 6-33 now the last three years. 12 win pace.

As soon as I saw the news about Cousins not playing tonight come across my iphone, I was like, "yep, we are losing tonight, you can count on it"!.... I wish I would have been wrong, but history has a funny way of repeating itself.

I have no confidence in this coaching staff and it is bumming me out. Even w/o Boogie tonight we could have won if this team was coached better a la Malone and more disciplined in their defensive principles instead of small ball and pace and let's be like 90s Nuggets.

I kind of feel like if Karl is not the coach for the long term there is no reason to keep him around for the short term. I don't know....even disregarding the drama with Boogie I don't think Karl has done a good job. This delegation is weak especially with young players needing one voice not a committee.

Well all of those people who complain about Gay iso (I'm one of them), we will get to see what the team looks like without him in Orlando, most likely.

Terrible game for Rudy to be out.

They have Oladipo, Fournier, Harris, and Vucevic.

We need Rudy vs. Orlando.

you weren't wrong

For the record, I only watched a couple minutes of the game love, and immediately noticed the misrepresentational way Cousins' suspension was covered by the broadcasting crew.
While providing the info of the suspension, they mentioned no less than 3 times that is was "an obvious suspension" and "an easy call to make" and "fully warranted" suspension.
No due diligence in bringing up any NBA cross-examples, or mentioning that it wasn't a solid facial hit or could have been a move to free himself from the holds on him, etc.

Grant's obsession with smearing Cousins is reaching a head - it will have to be addressed by the team if they want the narrative to change re: Cousins.
Grant has had six straight years of sliming Cuz every chance he gets, thousands of hours a year.

Don't tell me that kind of constant, biased coverage can't affect a narrative.
The national feed basically takes Grant's tone towards Cuz and repeats it to a louder audience.

The Kings cannot win without their superstar and it's much harder for Cuz to do well on the court if the refs don't treat him fairly.
I believe Grant is directly doing harm to the Kings' organization by constantly berating Cuz and he may well be directly responsible for the Kings losing, IMO.
I wish he would be called out on Twitter and on the radio and in person about how often he manipulates the signal against Cuz.
Twitter/Facebook warriors should bombard the Kings front office with complaints about the damage Grant is doing to the team by consistently attacking Cuz at every turn.

He won't stop on his own - he's WAY too immature and stuck in his habit to change now.

Just because you think you've "disproven" my point so many times doesn't make it true. The truth is, DMC has made you look like a fool time and time again because he just can't learn to control himself. If he truly is the HOF talent that you like to think he is then he would have found a way to win more than 29 games at least ONE time in his career. Look at all the disruptions that he's already caused just 12 games into the season...

I gotta say, while I'm thoroughly disappointed in the loss -- I also have to admit how much fun it is to watch Rondo play when he plays like he has been the past 2 weeks or so.

Last season, when Cuz missed a game, I didn't have much interest in watching. While I sort of felt that way going into tonight's game, Rondo's play continues to excite and amaze. I love watching that kid orchestrate an offense. It really seems like he's figuring out where to get all of his new teammates the ball where they can succeed and do the most damage. Hopefully his turnovers will curtail as they continue to gel and sync with one another.

We can try to find all the positives we can but the fact remains we are 4-9 and its not like our schedule ever gets "easy". Last night and tonight are games playoff contenders should be able to get, Atlanta without two of their starters and imo a very average Miami team. I mean the Jazz just beat Atlanta on the road and Minnesotta beat the Heat in Miami within the last week. Dallas beat Houston without three of their starters. Portland squashed Memphis at home. We have accumulated some losses here that could/should be wins if we are serious about making a playoff push.

Look you're clearly out of your depth here and don't have any feel at all for NBA history.

Barring an injury DeMarcus Cousins is an absolute mortal lock for the HOF. Now the winning component he'll need may have to come away from this hellhole franchise, but it will come somewhere and barely be necessary. Barring injury he's a 20,000pt 10,000reb center with half a dozen or more All NBAs under his belt.

Here, BTW, for your continuing bball education is a list of every NBA big man to ever put together even a single 25 PER season. You will notice the names (asterisks denote HOF BTW, not that it matters since all the rest are current players probably going too). Boogie BTW is working on his 3rd such season, which will tie him with Moses and Mikan, and leave him behind only Admiral, Petit, Hakeem, Shaq, Neil Johnston (early 50s pioneer), Duncan, Wilt and Kareem.

P.S. Ask Anthony Davis how it feels to have your franchise let you down.
