[Game] Kings @ Heat, 11/1/16 - 4:30 PM PDT

They hit 8 more 3s than us. That's 24 pts.

We couldn't hit **** from the perimeter, and we did a poor job of defending it as well. ..

But yeah, let's blame Cuz!
Yes it's on cuz. If you are your teams best player you simply cannot foul out nearly every night.

Let's not pretend like Willie hasn't earned that dog house. He's lucky he got minutes at all considering all the looks Joerger has got of WCS as summer league coach, preseason coach, and so far this season has been negative. Coach is probably wondering what the organization was so excited about.
I know. That was a more of a knock on willies lack of game

They were. That's the big flaw in Joerger's defensive schemes. He focuses on clogging the middle first and then works his way out. This system works great with a crazy person like Tony Allen on defense but has middling returns when your starting shooting guard is Arron Afflalo.

So Joerger then needs to notice this quickly and change his scheme, no? If he is as good of a coach he is made out to be, he needs to see where the void lies and help put his players in better positions.

Once DC comes back, I'm probably putting him back in with the starters in short order.

I wouldn't mind if they kept Lawson as the starter but have Collison play more minutes and finish games. I just think it's the best way to get the most out of both players. We know Collison can give you the same production whether he starts or comes off the bench. Lawson's career went into free fall when he was asked to do that in Houston and couldn't produce.

No arguments there. Afflalo is also pretty slow for a two guard. Part of the reason our second unit defense is better than the first unit. Temple and Ben have much better lateral quickness than AA. Ty Lawson's also had poor defensive showings over the past two games.

Ben has average lateral quickness really, its one of the reasons why you so often see him beat and trailing guys who seem to only be half as athletic as him. There is a prejudice toward "athletic" = run/jump, which Ben has in spades. But strength and lateral quickness are core athletic traits too, and those are the ones where Ben gets beat.

Afflalo is obviously a mediocre athlete for a SG, but more than good enough to play good defense most nights. Just not in the first half here for whatever reason. All of guards were just half assing it.

Wish we had McCaw at SG. He's a player I wanted the Kings to get with their late first round pick they acquired, instead of collecting all the big men. We should hit up the Warriors to see if they would do a WCS for McCaw swap.

I disagree, Collison fits the the starters better, he is a much better 3 point shooter and near automatic on corner threes and is better at giving entry passes, better defender also(even though Lawson has been pretty good). Lawson is better playing up and down, pick and roll. Second unit should be running , they just cannot get consistent offense in the halfcourt.

I agree. Lawson has been good but I am looking forward to having Collison back and in the starting line up to help spread the floor. He shot 40% from downtown last season. Lawson has been great at finding team mates but missed some opportunities to score.

The Kings got in at 2am to play the second night of a back to back. That's the way it goes in the NBA.

No excuse but may explain them being a step slow on defense to begin the game .

Even given that , they were one bullcrap call from winning the game.

5 games in with one pg . Making broad conclusions about Joeger or the team seems a little premature .

didn't see the game. was the team able to keep it competitive at least?

For the most part, yes. This was a game I don't think we lose later in the year...unless we're lucky enough to draw the same officials. They locked in on DMC early and never lost focus. Granted, he wasn't on his best behavior the whole night but he didn't deserve the lack of respect they showed him. Somehow, some way, Boogie is going to have to find a way to suck it up, shut up and play®...

I should know better than to reply to what is obviously a troll. However, you do realize that Cuz got ALL 6 of his fouls in the 4th quarter? He fouled out with 30 seconds left in regulation.

And 5 of the 6 weren't fouls. The 3 offensive calls were beyond laughable.

The naysayers will say that Cuz brings it on himself, but don't the officials have to be responsible for their behaviour too? Let's just say for a moment that the refs really do have it out for Boogie because of his behavior toward them. Well, the NBA has a bigger problem because these guys are paid professionals -- mediators of sorts -- that can't allow their personal feelings to affect the job they do. It's akin to a judge completely ignoring the law in an egregious manner and on multiple occasions simply because they don't care for a plaintiff or defendant. They just can't do it.

According to my daughter, my 11-year-old granddaughter (Little Princess 2) was not happy about the officiating either:

LP2: DMC didn't foul. They need 2 use the challenge flag.

KG4: NBA doesn't have those.

LP2: well they should cause these refs suck!

3 more games, then we get DC back. I truly believe that alone will do wonders for our team. I believe in Joerger and will until he's not our coach anymore.

I myself have high expectations for this team this season. but I can tell people are already forgetting.. brand new schemes on both the offensive and defensive end. it takes time and we are already competing without our best guard on the floor.

IT WILL BE OKAY

Is Joerger still the savior?
He isn't the problem. Joerger, like Karl, is a great coach. The problem is the GM. As I said before the season the problem is the talent. Bad draft selections, inability to complete good trades, and lack of free agent interest. For a team like the Kings you cannot afford mistakes like passing on Chriss and the WCS mess up.

So we gonna blame another good coach? Head in the sand

What are we blaming the coach for exactly?

People who can't see just how much better this team is functioning than anything we've had here in a decade...just can't see period.

There's nobody we haven't played tough. And by all rights we should be 3-2 with tough hard fought losses coming against a Top 3 team at home, and a Top 10 team on the road. Those are games everybody but the elite teams are expected to lose anyway.
