Well, thatis just dumb. Of course, considering the network involved it doesn't surprise me. There are VERY few shows I actually watch on NBC any longer. In fact, in checking my current DVR settings, the only one I currently had on there was Merlin, and it's done for the season.

For my next selection...
NYPD Blue - 1993-2005
This was good stuff from Steven Bochco, who has a good rep for doing good stuff. Dennis Franz...what to say, his portrayal of the tormented Andy Sipowicz. I'm one of the members of the island who missed David Caruso's character and the interplay between Kelly and Sipowicz. And Jimmy Smits...I could go on lol..But this was quality television right here.

In case you've been living under a rock for-like-ever, these two series were just a sample of the kind of product Joss Whedon brings to the screen. Clever, fun, well-written and entertaining, Buffy and Angel have a permanent home on my island.

Not sure which way to go here, the majority of the rest of my list might be safe so I could probably go anywhere, but that always seems to make the choice all the more difficult lol...
I'll Fly Away 1991-1993
WAAAAAAAAAY too short-lived a series if you ask those of us who watched this gem. It was a coming of age story...about this country actually. This show was set in the Civil Rights era in the deep south and modeled after "To Kill a Mockinbird" Actors Regina Taylor and Sam Waterston were pure brilliance in this and the storytelling by the writers was a slight notch below their acting.

This one brings back many many fond memories and while this show defines cheesiness - it is, in my mind, one of the best family sitcoms ever and I can watch these over and over again..

This one hurts. I think Im one of the few people that like this show more than Buffy. Im still crossing my fingers that it will come back someday, If I remember correctly the series finale left it open..

On to the frivolities:
Coupling (2000-2004; UK)
By far my favourite sitcom, especially in the section of romantic sitcoms. Coupling has it all, brilliant, exceedingly brilliant, really, really brilliant, emphatically brilliant dialogue, great characters, especially of course the number one character of all shows of all time, Jeff Murdoch (more about him later) and a great cast. With every other sitcom, for me at least, there are lulls. Jokes are repeated, some segments are clearly better than others, the rewatch value isn't the greatest, with Coupling there is no such thing. I adore every single episode, the jokes, despite rewatching each episode about fifteen times, still crack me up and te completely whack sense of humour that Steve Moffat possesses, especially in Jeff's monologues, is still incredible.

You know the reason I didn't participate in this? After ±5 rounds (maybe 80 shows or so), I can honestly say I have not seen over half of them ever. Once, even for say 10 minutes. Couldn't name a character in them if my life depended on it.

I found this show hilarious, and I'm glad it's still here. What I never understood was, how did an ineffective shoe salesman get such a nice house? My buddies and I had a NO MAAM faction at school for a while, too.
Nice choice! I always liked the episode where Kelly gets smart and stops remembering other things, like who the people in her family are, etc.

Well, I've been released from rehab. Back to the office so I can... Hmm... I just realized that there are no cartoons in my offering. I must make contact with the heads on a technicality.
Alright. I have dug through piles upon piles of T.V. Resource material and researched for an hour on the web. It seems the original movie run is off limits, so I'm taking the telecast that I grew up on.

This here was a run of new and old shows, it contained pretty much all of the best known characters (except Speedy Gonzales, Warner Bros. is always battling political correctness suits). We're gonna get pretty much all of it here.
I make the call, and Lauren Graham bursts into my office. Captain Kirk, out of breath, shows up within seconds and leans in my doorway. This can't be good.
