[Game] Kings @ Clippers - 12/21/12

well i guess we just called up Honeycutt to stop his development. which this franchise is great at doing. sure could use a very good rebounding SF in this game.................

At what point do we put some responsibility (and blame) on the players? Believe or not, NBA teams and players have been successful without a Phil Jackson, Sloan, Adelman, etc.

Johnson is a epic fail... bring in honeycutt!!!! Who has some sort of promise

Err ... I have my doubts that Honeycutt is at this very moment a good rebounder on the NBA level.

My respect level for Keith Smart went up tonight and apparently it did for the rest of the players too. If you're a player and you see a guy constantly acting like an idiot you start to lose respect for the coach and you don't play as hard. It was pretty obvious the players came out with increased intensity in the second half. To me, that's a huge insight into how they really feel about DMC and the way he acts.

This team under these owners will never be able to pay for a good established coach let alone convince one to work here, which is why our only option is to continue to take chances on the young guys - Musselman, Theus, Smart, etc.

I wanted Thibideau.

Such a stupid argument. Yes the players share some responsibility and i'd have no problems with some player movement. But that doesn't excuse the fact that he is a horrible coach that doesn't seem to have a single positive thing to add to this teams development.

The main thing is that a team needs to have an identity - a style of play that works. If we run the same plays every game, have consistent rotations and lineups and still lose then so be it. What I lament is the lack of consistency and any consistent style of play on our team.

Splitter? Hell, you are probably right. But if Cousins is undermining every coach due to losing, and the losing isn't going to stop anytime soon... then what do you do?
The best case scenario would involve the Maloofs hiring a coach that could get Cousins' behavior under control. But, I only see one available coach qualified to do that job, and there's no chance he's coming to Sacramento.

a DeMarcus hater would look at it this way

He also said that we have plenty of movement on the offense in his interview with Gray after the 1st period.

The thing about DMC is he's not nearly as good as he thinks he is. At least not good enough where he needs to be babied everyday.

You know what I can't wait to see? Jimmer in the 3 point contest. Finally the Kings might be associated with winning in some way.

I'm not totally confident that Jimmer is the sort of shooter that would excel in the 3 point contest. He's better shooting off the dribble where he gets some momentum stepping into a shot. Jimmer's the sort of shooter that would probably run out of time in the 3 point contest.
