[Game] Kings @ Clippers - 12/21/12

im still convinced Walton as a coach would have this team playing leaps and bounds better. and his post game conferences would be rather amusing

I know most will defend Cousins, but man does he need a reality check.

Listening to Grant and Walton, they were very careful not to make too big a deal of this but it was clear BOTH OF THEM felt whatever happened was not Smart's fault.

They just showed a clip of Cousins fighting with Smart at the end of the first quarter. And Walton cryptically says, "Assume responsibility for your own actions."

I honestly think this is a case where Cousins shot himself in the foot.

DMC gone and Kings climb back into the game. Take it for what it's worth but I think whatever happened did not have a negative impact on the rest of the team.

Thanks for the updates. Not getting much from the clippers broadcast, although they just showed that video. Interesting that the kings video guys would show it.

Agreed. No matter how inept Smart is, you don't mouth off to your coach.

You do if your coach isn't good at all. What's the point of playing for a bad coach and losing game after game? The organisation isn't going to make any changes or Smart would have been long gone.

While these are the facts of what happened, do you honestly think Grant and Walton would rip Keith Smart even if it were his fault?

I think it's more Walton thinks Cousins is a knucklehead

Walton thinks Cousins is an incredibly talented young man who needs to get his head out of his posterior and realize what an incredible gift he's been given.

Grant says, "The Kings have come out of the locker room a very spirited group."

Walton replies with, "And what does that say about Demarcus Cousins?"

I think there's a lot to be gleaned out of their comments tonight, and - as much as I really hate to say it - a lot of it seems to be supporting what Grant was ranting about the other day.

I certainly won't defend Cousins which is turning guess work into fact but there is no reason why Smart should still be coaching this team.

Oh, I agree about Smart ... It's just not Cousins place. We need him on the court. I'm sure he'll get suspended for this, and he's already missed 3 games due to suspensions. We need him and he's letting us down.

It's not up to Cousins to determine whether Smart is doing his job or not and cause problems in the locker room. As our "franchise player" he should be a leader in the locker room and taking the responsibility upon himself to get the team through this tough stretch. It's just another notch on the Cousins immaturity belt

You couldn't possibly be more wrong. Players who mouth off to their coaches DURING GAMES are idiots with no respect for themselves, their team or the game.
