This eventuality was only a matter of time this season.
Not IF - just WHEN.

Anyone who thought this team wasn't going to tank on Smart to ensure he got the boot early on this year, was fooling themselves with false hope.

I called this a long time ago - which was the main reason why I was so hard advocating for a real, proven head coach to be hired over the summer - so they wouldn't be scrambling mid-season to replace Smart, once the team tires of his BS.
 
Oh, thank goodness Smart took Thompson out of the game. He needs to cool off so he doesn't risk hurting himself.
 
And look - Matt Barnes on his way to winning the Tony Delk Memorial award. And it appears the Kings may have helped Lamar Odom rehabilitate his career at the same time.

Noone on this coaching squad is remotely qualified to be a head coach in the NBA.

They NEED to bring in a veteran, proven coach that can instill an offensive and defensive scheme - and fat chance of that happening mid-season.

no real coach would get near this team during the year, just go with english for now, then take whatever crums the goofs can scramble together and throw them at the van gundy boys or nate mcmillan
 
Jimmer can't handle! Jimmer can't pass! Jimmer can't create! lol...wait...he was the player of the year for that very reason, while also scoring of course.

Agreed. Not sure you get one to this mess at this point in the season, but there isn't anyone on the bench that I think has the right ability or personality.

Why the hell do you keep talking about Jimmer. While we're getting our asses kicked you think we want to hear you keep carrying on about Jimmer this or Jimmer that? How about realizing most of us have been fans for well over a decade and we're pretty pissed at what we're seeing? You think with our numerous problems, including the team possibly leaving, what Jimmer is doing in this game is something anyone besides yourself cares about?

Be realistic. We aren't going to get a veteran proven coach. At this point, an assistant coach like Alex English would be a VAST ADVANTAGE over what we're currently watching.

Short term. To close out the season and hire a real coach.

You have to remember that the game he is watching tonight is one where Jimmer is playing well and would have led to a win if he had been starting.
