[Game] Kings @ Celtics - 1/30/13 - 4:30 PST

We should have seen a Jimmer/Reke backcourt/pairing next to MT/Salmons much earlier and much more frequently, both tonight and this season is general.

There's a reason the floor's spaced better and guys have wider lanes to attack, as well as the ball moving more when we've got guys playing off Reke rather than playing off IT. No point in getting into it all right now but it's ludicrous Smart hasn't learned this earlier, and knowing Smart he's not learning anything from it now.

wait, Cuz returns? did not expect that.

haver to really. Diodn't want to come out. We aren't makign it over the hump wihtout him. Give him his shot at redemption and see what happens. At least he looekd like he wanted to try.

Wait a sec, Jimmer has consistently good shot selection? He doesn't play much hence the short term memory on this one perhaps. To be fair Jimmer is often asked to do too much in my opinion. If Jimmer makes it in this league I suspect it's going to be off the ball.
If you watch him off the ball, he hustles his butt off and gets open often but no one hits him...he doesn't get rewarded for his movement.

So Cousins attacks the rim when the game is completely over makes sense

He's got a future there potentially. Where he doesn't have a future is as any type of a lead guard. He does have some ball handling and passing skills just not enough to warrant him trying to create consistently with the ball in his hands or run a offense. Still a role for that type of guard off the bench. Even more so if he can find a way to play even average defense.

I wonder what the record of this team with a legit head coach? Ten percent better? Twenty? Thirty?
There's no question that this team is at least 10-15 wins better, over the course of a season, with a real NBA coach. To this point in the season, with the schedule that has been played, I put the Kings at 20-22 wins by now, maybe as many as 25.

i can think of a number of occasions in tight games when smart's 4th quarter substitution patterns doomed the team to a loss, so "ten percent better" is hardly a reach. "ten percent better" (roughly a five game improvement) would also place them squarely in the playoff hunt...

10 of our 17 wins have come against sub 500. teams in the East, we have failed to beat numerous teams who have been trashed the by injury (Indianax2, Bulls, Minnasota, Boston), I think people are greatly exaggerating how good this team would be with a "good" coach. We can't beat semi decent teams on a regular basis so no we are not a team that would be in the playoff hunt. On top of that add the fact our star shows up half the time for us to be in the hunt Cousins would have had to play well in 75% of the games hes played in at least.
