It's a definite possibility, especially if you take into account what some sixer fans say about Dalembert.

Nocioni will hustle inside; he will get rebounds; he can hit from outside. All of those traits would have helped a lot tonight.

And I'm more than a little concerned about Hawes for the simple reason he just did not look engaged tonight at all. It was like he was trying to play through gelatinous goo or something. He was a step off right from the beginning...and it only got worse as the game went on.

I know a lot of people are uber-critical of him, but tonight was not normal even as a bad game for him.

Spencer's playing terribly and he seems to be mailing it in. He's the only guy that doesn't consistently play hard. The guy is a wuss, I remember when we picked him everyone talked about how great of a post player he was and all he does is jack up crappy jump shots. I didn't want him when we drafted him, and last year he actually looked okay, and this year he's just nonexistant.

I think we DEFINITELY need Noc back though. He's the leader of this team, he plays hard, he hits the floor, he makes guys work on defense, he spreads the floor, he HUSTLES, and we need him. Deng wouldn't have owned us so bad tonight if Noc was out there. Noc is our veteran leader IMO.

Whats dissapointing to me about the Hawes/Noah debate is that Noah looks completely comfortable as a starting center. Doesn't make many mistakes. Defensive rotations are there. Stays out of foul trouble. At least attempts to be physical, although he's a pretty skinny guy.

And Spencer just looks lost, and looks like he's heading towards a reserve role. Its not the stats I'm looking at. Its that Noah looks MUCH more comfortable as an nba player than Hawes, and Hawes looks like he's regressing. Its his body anguage. Shot selection. Defensive positioning. Boxing out. I'm not talking about confidence(which would affect his shots falling), but the basic x's and o's of basketball. Spencer always looks confused and unprepared.

If we had some more bigs we could actually bench spence and rebuild at a slower pace just like Donte... I think it'd work but it's just getting another big in here... I guess we could roll with Donte playing the 4 in the future and JT playing the 5.

You're completely right though, he looks lost and unconfident... Let him come off the bench to do little things at a time for 3-5 minute stretches throughout the game... Starting with defending and rebounding.

Thing is, the attitude I sense from Hawes is that he thinks he should be a starter. How is he going to react when he gets only 10 minutes a game?

oK... Hawes is only 21..21! I think people forget that.. hes 1 year older then tyreke and 2 years younger then thompson.. He has shown potential, but hes sooo young still ..we have to give him time.. This team isnt finding him in any comfortable offensive spots.

is he even trying in the paint? poor JT is in the trenches by himself.

I agree too. I like Spencer still as our future starter (depending on if he pans out, which im hoping he eventually does). But I think a starting role is too much for him to handle right now. Like the guy said above, he is only 21 and most players don't come into the NBA at that age and start as soon as Spencer has. When Miller was traded, the thought that went through my mind was "GREAT! more time for Hawes"... maybe a little too much time.

I'm not giving up on Spencer. I like his skillset, he has talent, and I think he will be a good nba center. But as each game goes by, I'm getting a stronger feeling that Spencer just isn't ready to be a starting center in this league right now. The whole mental aspect just seems to be too much for him right now. He looks overwhelmed and lost.

I don't think it would only be best for the team, but also for Spencer, to get a real nba center in here that he can learn from and to help take the pressure off him.

I would like to see Pops Mensah Bonsu on the team. not as starting center, but as a back up! He is for sure better than Hawes! Raptors don`t need him and he is cheap!

I haven't seen too many games this year but I saw that sergio played well. He has great vision and can break the defense down. Is there a reason he isn't getting more minutes.

Need Martin back against teams like this. Wow
and if Spence keeps playing like this I'm going to change my name to "Haweful".

Emeka Okafor!!!!

that fade away midrange jumper in the 4th that was good 2 feet short of a rim was the epitome of Spencer's lameness

I personally love SRod's game more then Beno's... but I can't answer that question - I assume Westphal just takes his time trying to learn people slowly. All I know is he doesn't get his ankles broken on defense like Beno does lol..

Jason has cut down the complaining but I still haven't seen a difference in how the refs are treating... which at the moment is like crap. Jt gets the blame for the most ridiculous fouls, one specific one came to mind tonight where Noah blocked himself on the rim and Thompson, who didn't even touch him, got a ghost foul.

Spencer does appear to be behind Noah, however, Noah has the benefit of having the same coach this year as last year. It is my belief that, in part, Spencer is a coaching victim.

Plus he's trash... I'm 5'10 and i'd play bigger then him in the paint... not kidding.

Ya! that $#%! the refs pulled with Jason early in the game made me mad. He's the best player we have and they just took him out... The refs then tried to make up for it which just led to a poor officiating job. Bulls still the better team and deserve the win.

Like you said his "attitude". He needs to go out there and play hard no matter if he starts or comes off the bench.

Noah's older with four years of college basketball. He should be ahead of Hawes. Having said that, I'm disappointed that Hawes does not seem to be improving. I can't believe how easy it is to block his shot or slap the ball out of his hands.
