Kings @ Bobcats Game Thread

Do you really think Muss drew up a play of artest getting the ball, artest drives the lane against the whole bobcats team, and artest absolutely barrels over his defender to give up possession?
There is no sign that Muss has any control over Ron whatsoever.

You guys are straight up killing me.

I have to be a pseudo-kings fan for the rest of this season because I want Orlando to get a higher draft pick, but jeez you guys can't buy one.

After Artest hit that late 3 I figured it was over so i flipped it off to the sixer game, only to flip back and see that somehow the Bobcats came back and won.

welcome to the "Kingdom"

My next kings game is against the Mavs. OMG! Im really considering giving away these tickets. It is going to be a complete mess.

Muss with his substitutions(salmons and garcia... then price!) made Artest wait nearly 1 minute for shooting his second FT. That's not a good thing to wait so much time.
I know if Ron would have made it i wouldn't speak about it but why he doesn't made the 3substitutions at the same time ?
A Muss tricks i guess !

I don't know if i've ever seen the kings playing so poor defense for this past 2games. What y'all think about it ?
Mike looks like my sister could score on him anytime...

Adelman did pretty well with him last year. Oh well.

This whole season has made me really appreciate what Adelman did for us and I was one of those people calling for Adelman to be fired last year. Adelman vs. Muss is like men vs. boys

Except when Artest would call timeouts on the floor when Adelman didn't want one???

Let's not start this crap again. Artest had to be on his best behavior last year as he was on the verge of being booted from the league. We are now seeing the real Ron and this is the one that the Bulls & Pacers knew.

Artest just said on House Party that the Kings can win 80 percent of their next games. ROFL

Its really about time people quit listening to Ron for anything more than entertainment -- he just talks out of his ***. The old saying about even a stopped watch...

there is also no sigh that Muss ever draw a play. As we know - he uses power point
Hey, I think you've hit on the problem! He needs a wireless laptop at courtside. Without PowerPoint at his fingertips, he's completely lost once he leaves the locker room. On the other hand, its probably the team trying to recover from PP at halftime that has caused too many bad 3rd quarters this year. On the horns of a dilemma!:p ;)

And Muss said he would make the Kings a hard-nosed defensive team. Again, ROFL

Right now, I'm a little bugged about that mini-winning streak the team had, even though I enjoyed watching wins. It was a mirage. Taunting the thirsty fans with the illusion of water in the desert. And perhaps keeping us farther down in the draft.

Even worse, Bobcats playing without Okafor at all and without Wallace down the stretch. Ugh.

I know what you mean. This team just choked. We just lost to the Bobcats without Okafor and the Cavs without Lebron...

btw Ron is still guarenteeing the playoffs. He said they're going to win 80% of their games from now on:eek:

and the team guys completely lost when they enter the locker room

Kinda hard when most of the King's roster is defensively retarded. Petrie needs to get us some more defensive players. Last offseason (which I guess marked the start of our new "defensive" era) was kinda bunk because of Bonzi...It will be interesting to see what, if anything, Petrie does in the way of trades, the draft, and free agent signings this summer to bring the Kings more D.

You cant get mad at a carpenter for building you a crappy house if you gave him the wrong tools to do the job. This roster is kinda a mess...Our frontcourt is short, slow, and unathletic. Our PG is incredibly inconsistant and couldnt defend a midget in a wheelchair. Put those two things together and you have a team that wouldnt even play good defense if Popovich was coaching them.

And I'm not really trying to defend Muss. I just think this team could use some new players, and if that doesnt work out, then maybe try a new coach.

Our tandom of Kenny Thomas, Reef, and Brad let May, Herrmann, Voskul, and Brezec go 18 of 33, 33 boards, 4 assists, and score 42 points.

Our tandom went 10 of 19, 10 boards, 7 assists, and 26 points.

You're pretty much SOL when your frontline gets toasted that bad by average, to below average players.

And thats on Petrie, not Muss...

...I really hope this team is radically different starting next season.

Oh I'm not gonna be doing any of that.

Knowing Petrie we're gonna go into next year with some combo guard draftee and a big who can shoot the ball but averages under 4 rebs and .3 blocks a game.

That was version I of Ron-Ron. This is version II. They don't call him Ron-Ron for nothing.

There are reasons there are more than one version for us. Rick reached him and had stature as a coach. Muss did not and does not. And that was that.

Welcome to our world.

No, no, no. There's your error. The Bobcats didn't find a way to win. The Kings found another way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory... they're actually probably the best in the league this year at finding ways to lose.

not any more. Pacers are much better

Ron-Ron's Hierarchy of Needs

There are reasons there are more than one version for us. Rick reached him and had stature as a coach. Muss did not and does not. And that was that.

I don't think it has to do with the stature of the coach. Instead, I think it has to do with Ron being out of work for an extended period of time and wanting initially to desperately fit in to his new team, to put his best foot forward. After Ron became comfortable, and after the Kings had success with him in the second part of last season, he aspired to much greater things than fitting in. He wanted to be The Man. That is Ron's comfort zone, not fitting in. Ron's desire to be The Man has been talked about Reggie Miller and Kenny Smith, both of whom know him pretty well. They both talk about the fact that he wasn't happy on the Indiana team being second or third fiddle, even though his team was quite good at the time. It's pretty obvious that for Ron-Ron, being The Man involves dribbling a lot at the end of games, being the point-forward. I think Rick would have had the same problem with Artest this year as Muss. And based on Adelman's history, I believe he would have deferred as much or more to Artest than Muss.

Well put and I completely agree. It has nothing to do with who is coaching him and everything to do with Ron.
