Purple Reign said:You are honestly telling me that if Geoff Petrie stepped to the podium tommorrow and announced that the Kings have signed Latrell Sprewell for the veteran minimum for the remainder of the season, you would not welcome him? I would not only welcome him, he would be the first perimeter player off of the bench!!! Forget about off court comments. And the Carlisimo thing was 8 years ago.
He plays hard
He competes, playing to win
He is athletic in spite of his age
He works hard on the defensive end
Here are the bench numbers last night for Martin and Garcia:
1-7 FG
0-3 3 PT
6 rebounds (all by Martin)
2 assists
1 turnover
Not bad considering what we have been seeing, but I have no confidence that either of these guys can produce when they are called upon. Now I do not deny that these players will be good players at some point, especially Garcia. I like Garcia much more than I do Martin. But this is not the developmental league. The Kings need to win RIGHT NOW!!! They need help on that bench.

yes he has a bad attitude....wait, didnt Bonzi have a bad attitude also?
Sprewell as out backup SG/SF is a blessing to anyone
You cannot imagine what he can bring to the table...
If he gets to sign a contract with us, he will be grateful for that...
He will be just another Bobby Jackson (in terms of scoring)
I personally wish that Spree can be our backup SG/SF
"Anyone who thinks he should play for that, that's absurd," Sprewell's representative, Bob Gist, told SI.com this week. "He might as well retire.
"Latrell doesn't need the money that badly. To go from being offered $7 million to taking $1 million, that would be a slap in the face."
That also would allow Sprwell to be received as a savior.
Washington shooter Jarvis Hayes, stuck behind Antonio Daniels and Caron Butler, looking like a top candidate to be on the move.

Interesting. If that develops further, Petrie should look into that.
I like Hayes.

Bricklayer said:Yes I noted that. But it was a throway line at then end fot he very same Mitch Lawrence article as the guys quitting on Adelman (right next to that quote actually). And just as dubious. Might have been no mor than Mitch just looking at box scores and going "that must mean...".
But just for kicks...
Kenny Thomas for Etan Thomas and Jarvis Hayes works salarywise as long as those two are out of favor.![]()
