This just shows how little we have to work with, in terms of how our talent and location is viewed. I know the FO was doing everything it could, it wasn't lack of effort...it's just hard to sell sand in the desert.
I expect Jimmer's playtime to go away in favor of Ray, but I also expected Jimmer to be traded, so I think my prognostication license is about to be revoked.

We can't trade Thomas now. He'll be a free agent in the offseason.
We could have gotten Lebron if we simply offered Jimmer to the Heat. Or Outlaw for Durant
Don't think so. We can do a sign and trade or match. Or sign him ourselves. But none of that can be done on draft day.Technically we can on draft day
Highly unlikely though
I don't think it's that at all. I think the moves made really didn't do much in terms of acquire assets or build for the future. It was a bit of rearranging of deck chairs at best.
Yeah, I expected IT to be moved
This is why for years I've disagreed with those who regularly said we'll just clear out/trade these guys or those guys next summer or at the next deadline in order to improve the roster after bringing on or offering bad contracts. Yet again we see that a) nobody wants our crap and b) our crap is overrated by Sac media/Kings bloggers.
I fear for what our locker room might turn into over the next few months. We now have guys, key guys in our rotation, who know they aren't part of the future and aren't valued here long term.

Who said cancer? Don't be dumb. It's not simply black and white, you're either a cancer or the ideal teammate. There's much grey area inbetween.Players want get to paid right? You think they are going to become a cancer in the locker room because they know they won't be here in the future? I'm sure that type of behavior will get them loads of offers from other teams when free agency comes around.
It's not about being a cancer in a locker room. Shot taken here and there, when pass to get a better shot for the team was obvious, and now the next guy feels he should shoot too, when he gets the ball, cause he's not seeing it again. He didn't give me the ball, I'm not picking his guy on defense...There was plenty of this lately. Expect even more.Players want get to paid right? Don't put words in my mouth.
Can the Kings buyout Jimmer's contract?Gonna be quite the distraction.
Gotta' give Pete'D credit for even pulling off the Thorton trade. NJ was probably the only team willing to take on more salary for a questionable player.

I agree. Trading Thornton was a big accomplishment in my book. It's a shame they couldn't find a trading partner for Fredette.Gotta' give Pete'D credit for even pulling off the Thorton trade. NJ was probably the only team willing to take on more salary for a questionable player.
Did in my book. I think he was a tough sell and it was important to end his playing any more minutes for the Kings. It's done. They took on $1M total for a much younger guy outplaying the guys they traded. Not sure PDA really "pulled" off anything.
