Kessler Edwards

As far as I'm aware the three point line in the G-league is the same distance in the National Basketball Association of America*. Can anyone confirm?

*and Canada
I don't know if you're a returning member who lost their password or a completely new one but small touches like referencing the Italian flag to stay in character makes you a top 3 all time poster here.

Welcome Kessler Edwards! I'ma fan of his liked him going into the 2021 draft. This is a picking at low-hanging fruit type of move from the FO. So it's actually much more a matter of "why not?" than "why?"

He can shoot the ball but his mechanics are a bit unothodox you'll see he sorts of kicks one foot out infront of the other n leans forward a bit, kind of has a streetball look to the mechanics. He's never looked totally limited to just being some floorspacer to me.

he has decent tools and a decent frame to contribute a bit all over, he can actually post up smaller players quite well though idk if that's what we'll see from him at the NBA level

he's gotta have a wingspan close to 7' and should be a passable defender. Ultimately Edwards will be judged here thru the lens of a 3-and-d player, n maybe he can give us a lil more scoring punch off the bench.

former 3-star recruit! this is a player who's been overlooked / an underdog for some time.

There has been much speculation as to my true identity. Some are certain I'm Mark Jones. Others have speculated I'm Bricklayer (who may long to return but perhaps could never do so under his old name out of pride). There is a rumor VF21 hasn't actually passed on, but wished to leave her moderator duties behind and couldn't think of any other way to do so. Others simply revel in the mystery and enjoy the show.

Whatever your take, my aim is to entertain, so it pleases me greatly to read your response.

p.s. - On a personal note, I'm having a wonderful private dinner tomorrow night with friends at a hot dog stand run by a gourmet Italian chef in his 80s who does private dinners at night, including for the movie crews that have been shooting lately in this town. $45 bucks a person for a four course dinner and bring your own vino. If you can identify where this is and the name of the hot dog stand, I will reveal my true identity to you in dm's - and trust you with our secret - because if you know where this is I know you are a person of great integrity.

This move does really beg the question;

Did the F/O decide the 6ers asking price on Thybulle was too much? n so they went to plan b.

I personally would much prefer to have Edwards here for basically nothing in return rahter than overpaying for Thybulle, whos 3pt shooting is a bit, as they say, sus.

Had a surprisingly good rookie year, then what I'm trying to find out is why he never got back into the rotation this season. Started 23 games, 20 MPG last year, but nothing this year.

And I do recall he had a few stand-out games and has tremendous length on the wing. Think he's a developmental buy-low piece at a premium position as opposed to someone who can step in right away and help
I liked him out of college, but reading up on the Nets forum, he's got some McLemore tendencies. Can't really dribble or put the ball on the deck. Also lacks bball IQ on both ends and tends to lose confidence in himself.

I think this could be a good buy low trade. If it doesn't work out, we're not losing anything at all

we got cash and the player most likely to see an NBA court for some guy who is a trade footnote though, that's a pretty solid deal given what I think of TPE's in general. Not to mention it this TPE is from Bagley's deal as some have speculated and we still have 4 million and a top 55 protected second rounder to get another player after we trade Holmes lol ok I am getting way ahead of myself...

Yeah sounds like he has tremendous defensive upside if he ever figures out the fouling problem. Seems like he's versatile 1-4, strong base and good quick twitch.

Offensively, sounds purely like a spacer/cutter which is perfectly fine in our offensive system. If you're good enough defensively, all you really need on offense is a 36%+ 3pt and stay efficient on limited touches. KZ I think is an NBA defender, but the offense and shooting are still too far away for him to be a reliable rotation player. Maybe Edwards can fill that.

We don't have a roster spot though, unless we do a 2-1 kind of deal, or make another move to free up one. Let's see what Monte can do. Dallas made the West a lot tougher.

I have a feeling if we plan on moving Holmes we might have to provide some sweetener which would mean we could then use the TPE, or we could just cut Len if we got Plumlee and wanted something other than a backup big.

I'm not really sure what Dallas has done. And since they seem intent to move more pieces it's hard to say where they are headed. Right now I don't know where their defense is gonna come from, but I guess Kings have proven somewhat that you can win a shootout.

Maybe we learned something from the Raptors, just put a bunch of long defenders out there to clog passing lanes and contest shots. Our starting unit can score on anyone, so have the lengthy bench come in and waste some time. Monk, TD, KZ, Kessler, Lyles? That's pretty lengthy, except Lyles, but maybe Plumlee might be a target?

Same thing with the Pelicans and the Magic, kind of. Just fill your roster with hyper athletic wings.

Dallas was missing a second star, and Irving provides that. They also get elite ball handling shared between two guys, one of whom can almost always be on the floor. Plus, either can lead the team in a crunch.

My guess is that Doncic stays their #1, both because he's been there, and is currently a better overall player. However, Irving has the personality to lead if required. He's played second fiddle to guys like Bron and Durant (though perhaps not very happily), and might be okay with not being the alpha on the team.

There are always risks when you add a major piece, particularly one with a controversial personality like Irving. Teams will always like to load up on talent though. Let's see how it fits.

They got their second star but they gave up their two best defensive players. It feels like they are doing the LA Lakers team approach, and they have also been burning future assets and giving away talent to get rid of failed acquisitions like KP.

Obviously if good Kyrie shows up and they pair well together that's a plus, but it's still a 5-5 sport not NBA Jam and I am just not sure how much depth and other pieces they have to compete.

I had wondered whether you were Mark Jones. You're very articulate and full of food references. It doesn't really matter who you are/ aren't on here though.

What a disaster of a draft that was for the Clippers. Truly deserving of an F grade in hindsight. Blunder after blunder, Brice Johnson with Siakam and DeJounte Murray on the board.

To select Diamond Stone at 40, given some of the character concerns that were quite public, was really an outragous reach and leap of faith. I have to believe many teams flat out took Stone off their boards given some of the leaks.

The entire NBA really did quite poor on this draft though honestly, the undrafted players outperformed the 2nd rders. Van Vleet goes undrafted in 2016. Alex Caruso goes undrafted. Dorian Finney Smith. Gary Payton II. Damion Lee's stuck around. Ron Baker flamed out but he made like 10 mil in a few years..
