Actually kind of interesting he's with the Kings. Thought I saw a report that he was "going to get a chance with the G-League" roster.
yeah I was under the impression he was going to Stockton too. Interesting. Would be great to see him in action.

Terence Davis? I have not heard a word about his being on the trade block. I rather like the guy, tunnel vision and all.
I'm a TD fan as well. I don't think there's been official rumors out there (is there even such thing as an official rumor?) but he's one of the few tradeable guys on the roster.

Yeah, problem is he's just stuck behind Monk and Huerter. I don't think we expected them to be such home-run hits. There's almost no chance we resign him, so I'm hoping we can use his expiring to help balance the roster a bit. But he's certainly good enough to be a rotation player in the NBA, just needs to find the right spot.

I like TD but he's buried in the rotation and so like Jamal I just don't see us re-signing him unless we moved someone else and I don't know who that would be, Davion I guess but I would think if he was included as the sweetener in a Holmes deal for a more compatible big man we'd also get a replacement PG back. Seems more likely we'd try to package TD as the sweetener since he is expiring it's more a try-out for the receiving team.

I think the general consensus is TD is a fine player but we could use more length in that position and thus it is feasible to imagine him being included in a trade for us to acquire a player providing more length and possibly defense, who is also considered someone we can give up without really hurting team chemistry too much. (I supposed, with some of our crucial pieces also being traded here, they'd weather the storm of core members of this team being traded in a more mature manner)

I think if we could somehow manage to pick up Thybulle that makes both TD and Mitchell expendable.

This move does really beg the question;

Did the F/O decide the 6ers asking price on Thybulle was too much? n so they went to plan b.

I personally would much prefer to have Edwards here for basically nothing in return rahter than overpaying for Thybulle, whos 3pt shooting is a bit, as they say, sus.
:rolleyes:

tin foil hat conspiracy here, but I wonder if Kessler is actually going to play a role for us this season. And that's why we didn't go get anybody?

Highly highly doubtful. Vlade may have done something like that but McNair is too smart for that.

There were probably a handful of players that McNair wanted but the asking prices were just over what he was willing to give.

It's like Ben Simmons last year.

My guess is that Monte had Kessler Edwards on his radar before the 2021 draft and he kept an eye on him during his rookie season where he started 23 games. Much like Terrance Davis played well his rookie season and then fell out of favor his 2nd year. Monte goes shopping for diamonds in the rough baragins at the deadline.

If Kessler shows good in practice, he may get some PT behind Keegan at SF. Kessler could become a cheap rotation player for the Kings.

James Ham being incredibly down on Kessler Edwards makes me confident that the kid is gonna come out of nowhere and become a rotation player lol
I don't get the point in being incredibly up or down on these types of moves. If they cost nothing, then who cares? They gave up the rights to some guy no one has ever heard of to get a closer look at a potential 3&D wing that more than likely won't ever play meaningful minutes on the NBA squad. If it pans out, then you got a player for free. If it doesn't pan out, you're no worse than you were before the move was made.
