Now ill be watching every kings game from school...i'm juiceD! If anyone wants to watch kings games from the east coast and cannot set up league pass via cable/dishnet, I can help you through the SlingBox set up...it was a huge pain, esp if you have to set up a wireless network at your place. Anyways, GO KINGS!

Place shifting for your tv via pc. I use it to watch tv on my laptop outside or my office pc - you plug it in to your cable box and watch over your LAN or via the internet.

eta: I did not find setup to be difficult at all and would be more than willing to assist anyone as well.

I got one too. Set up on my TiVo so I can catch pretty much anything at anytime from anywhere. My dad has one too so I can watch his as well. Real nice with TiVo. The Quality is real good as well with a good connection.

Hey bro I'm interested in getting a sling box too in order to watch the kings games.

Can you post up directions on how to set it up?? or PM them.

You can watch your local programing anywhere you get internet in the world....anywherE!
But, doesn't that mean that you have to have access to the programming to begin with? If you don't like in Sacramento's broadcast area, and you "cannot set up league pass via cable/dishnet," then where exactly are you getting the games from to pipe to your PC?

This thread doesn't really belong in Kings Rap, anyway.

You're not talking about people being able to "pirate" broadcasts, are you?

No he's not VF21.
Just means he has an application on his laptop/computer that connects to his internet service at home. He can watch his DVR or Kings' game live. He would;nt want to share out his IP address at home otherwise hackers  can takeover his router at home ;)

There's no piracy or anything illegal about it although some of the peeps running the TV industry do have issues with the Slingbox just like they have issues with Tivo. But Slingbox is crippled in two ways that makes their arguments moot imho - you can't record off of it and you can only have one active session at a time.

And yes, its only good if you are able to put the Slingbox wherever you get the games. So its great for a college student who's parents live in Sac or someone who travels a lot, especially if you pay for league pass and can't always be at home on a game night.

Sony also makes a similar device called Location Free TV which I think can be installed on a PSP handheld. I don't know enough about it to recommend it over a Slingbox though.
