I like Tyrus Thomas but given our current locker room situation I don't think bringing in another reputed knuckle-head is a wise idea right now. He's also an erratic energy player with a boatload of defensive potential but limited offensive skills which, again, we seem pretty well stocked with already. If we're going to makea major acquisition it should be someone who's going to steady the ship rather than the other way around and it should be someone who is established enough in the league that we're not taking our chances and hoping for the best. Things need to get better, there's not a lot of margin for error.
It also seems unlikely that Charlotte would be willing to deal Thomas since that team is in nearly as much chaos as we are right now. The furthest they've ever gotten is the first round of the playoffs and they already seem to be regressing from that level of success. They traded their franchise center for Tyson Chandler and then let him go less than a year later so I'm not sure I understand Jordan's suprise at the lack of success this year. Not that Okafor is an All-Star, but how far do you expect to get with Nazr Mohammad as your starter? So anyway, if anyone is on the trade block it's going to be a veteran like Wallace because he's relatively expensive and he's got a lot of miles on his legs. He'd probably be looking for a change about now anyway. The young players are what you keep in that situation. They'll probably want a draft pick out of a Wallace deal but it doesn't have to be our pick. Plenty of teams have traded for mid to late first round picks and then flipped those picks to another team. Landry might be attractive, Dalembert is a big expiring, probably we trade one of our young SF since Wallace would become the starter.
