I don't care if a s*** storms comes out of this. People need to stop being so damn sensitive in this country, especially when it comes to religion.

Does it matter so much that you need to bring it up in a sports forum where you could possibly start a **** storm?
I'm just not seeing the chemistry with Salmons at SF.... I'm not one of those guys who think we are a worse team with him at SF...but I'm not sure were a whole lot better.
Well, why ignore it when our new starting sf makes a point of bringing it up every 2 minutes? No one here brought it up, our sf did.

That's what I was refering too. He had a contract with Toronto and it was denied by the league for some reason i can't remember. He then changed his mind about signing with Toronto because he had a sign that told him to go to Sacramento.
Yeah, I couldn't remember all the details, but I remembered him agreeing to a contract verbably and then changing his mind and coming to the Kings. I really don't have a problem with his reference to God as long as he doesn't overdue it. I don't remember it being an issue when he was here last time.

Well, people are, and thats why its not talked about on this fourm. If you don't want people getting upset about it, then don't talk about. Its really that simple.

Come on Rainmaker, your a bright guy. I listened to the interview, and he didn't bring it up every two minutes. He brought it up in reference to how he felt about being traded back to the Kings. And if you know anything about religious people, they don't think that god makes a trade happen. They simply believe that everything happens for a reason. That god gives them new challenges in their life. Now you don't have to believe that, but he does, and its important to him. Is your dislike of him so great, than everything he does or says is an issue. Not worth the energy my friend.

I just don't think it's something as simple as what he believes in or what makes him happy. I just think too many people use religion as a cop out(Glenn Coffee lol)

I don't like Salmons, but I'm not in a place to judge him or his belief system... and quite frankly his belief system has nothing to do with basketball so it's irrelevant anyways. He brought it up because this was a major life change for him outside of sports. Your cop out comment at the end has nothing to do with Salmons or sports and therefore is irrelevant as well to this forum.

I know this conversation is bordering breaking the forum rules, so this will be where I stop outside of IM.

Guys, you are doing a decent job of self policing here, but as with the Mormon thing, please step back from the religion issue. In another forum at another time I would cheerfully call out a holy roller and flame broil them, but that is not what this forum is about. We do basketball here. And occasional Hot Babes. :) Not politics or religion.

Well the topic keeps getting brought up by one certain poster, and to be honest I don't think it's very appropriate and find it mildly offensive. Might I request that if it is brought up one more time the Mods take action? Let's keep this forum about basketball and the Sacramento Kings. This is not the place to argue that America and the world are too sensitive about religion.

I didn't bring this one up. Take a damn chill pill and stop taking offense to it. No more religion talk from me unless you want some PM's about it. Peace, homie.

Someone buy that man an espresso machine
LOL. Some folks would definitely feel that way about my brother, who is slow to speak and is quite reserved. I have no doubt some people have thought him unfriendly and/or "slow." He's actually quite brilliant and a great human being. (He's slow to speak, because he actually thinks about what he's going to say, before saying it. Unlike me. ;))

Decent interview, John seems like a nice enough guy. The only worry I have is his insistence that he has something to prove, and that he can still play. I know that he can, I'm just worried he won't sacrafice shots for the good of the team. Might be just looking into things too much, though. If John plays defense, hits open shots and keeps the ball moving he will be a huge success. If he dribbles and stagnates the offense there's going to be problems.

The one and only big bright spot about The Salmonella coming back here is when the offense gets stagnate and we're on a scoring drought, the team can throw the ball into the Salmonella, let him back down his defender and get us some points with his iso.

This is when Tyreke is in a hole, DeMarcus is crying, Marcus Thornton is shooting his cheeks out at the gun range and everyone else isn't hitting their shots.

..And let's be honest with ourselves, we've seen The Salmonella play before, he is a black hole and a ball hog, BUT YOU CAN'T DENY THE FACT THAT HE CAN BACK DOWN A DEFENDER AND GET TO THE RIM ON A CONSISTENT BASIS.

Plus he defends pretty good and has a decent fade away.

Everything else about The Salmonella being a ball hog and a black hole does not apply in regards to my opening statement.
