Well you brought it up so here you go. in 2002 Gooden started the year off starting. Yao got about 15 min a game. Drew put up 12pts 6reb. Yao 10 and 5reb. Now once Yao started he got double double at least every other game. Now lets jump to 2008. Beasley is the one starting and JT is coming off the bench. Yet JT has the better numbers. Hmmmmm may want to come with another comparison.
Have you seen any of the Miami games?? Beasley isn't looking bad. Its not like he is having bad game. Now I assume you have seen the kings games. Does JT look as if he is playing his best? I don't think so. In fact if not for the game in which JT got 11 min with 2pts 2reb. I wonder what his averages would look like without that game?
I don't understand this need some have that the #1,#2,#3 picks just have to be better than the #12 or so. The only reason JT wasn't a top 5 pick is because of his college. Had he done that at a bigger name school he would have been. Every GM questioned if it would translate from Rider to the NBA in fact many ppl here did the same. Turns out it looks like it is going to translate.
But by all means you let me know when is the best time to do JT vs. Beasley comparisons. 20 games? 30? signs show that it will be the same. Now if JT had the 34 min that beasley has you would be agreeing with me.
Beasley is also a couple years younger than Thompson. It's not even 10 games in to the year and you want to declare thompson the better deal right away?
