Melvin Ely: Despite a history of injury problems, the 6 10 big-man is entering his prime and is going to find work. He's a restricted free agent, but the Bobcats are willing to negotiate a sign-and-trade if a team wants him bad enough. I'd give him a three-year deal at a reasonable rate and hope I end up with a bargain.

I was wondering why I do not remember any one mentioning this guy. By this description he sounds ok for us. Then I looked up his stats, does anybody like this guy?
I'd take him back on that deal.![]()

Yeah, we don't really have a place for Ely right now. I like him as a solid big though.
But who would you sit for Bonzi minutes? Kevin? no way. Salmons? don't know but somehow I think Petrie has a reason for him in the 1-2 spot. Bonzi got a lot of rebs but down low with Artest and Miller. Kinda hard to fast break if only 2 are running.

It it getting silly, seeing people post these goofy nutty posts alot of people are underestimating what Bonzi did for us and thus they keep posting crazy comments.
Fact of the matter is, we are having a awful off-season like 113 and others who still have faith in a trade i was the same dude who also expected a trade but now that faith is all but gone.
i think we have no motives to make us "Significantly" better because at this point we haven't improved that much and we have down-graded instead of upgrading our roster.

1. Saying we had an awful offseason is your opinion, not fact.
2. To get a true sense of feeling on how our offseason went, look at our competitors. What did they do? No one significantly improved (except the Hornets for a whole lotta $$$), some of them digressed, and some of them didn't do anything. We didn't lose much ground to anybody...we are hoping that our young guys develop, that Salmons and Woods reach their potential, and a full season of Ron will help improve our record. If that happens we will be better. It wasn't a great offseason, but it wasn't bad either IMO.
4. I don't know what Geoff could have done other than throwing a 5-year deal at Bonzi to get him to stay...oh wait, he did do that.
5. I know your response will be something along the lines of calling me crazy, but this is truly what I believe and with a new coach and some marginal upgrades at key positions (backups at PG and C), I think we can have a good season, possibly making it to the second round of the playoffs, which will be better than last year. That will be something to build upon and encourage the Maloofs to possibly spend over the luxury tax in future seasons. That is an attainable goal isn't it?
6. Finally, add in the progress being made about a new arena and I think it was a pretty solid off-season for the Sacramento Kings.

I wonder why no one has picked him up yet? Finding bigs that can score and play both the 4/5 isn't easy...
I think our best off-season move is assuring as little playing time possible for Jason Hart.![]()
More P.T. for Salmons and Potato!! Hey, that sounds like what I had for dinner last night.I think our best off-season move is assuring as little playing time possible for Jason Hart.![]()
If you are expecting a championship this season you are in for a major disappointment, but if you look at the grand scheme of things you see we may be setting ourselves up quite nicely for a real run in a year or two.
Then again this team has to really go at it now too. In a year we may be Bibby-less. In two we may be Artest-less. You never know.
