Hall of Famer
This will be a very interesting game with or without Shaq. With Shaq Kings fans will have more reasons to boo. A week ago I was sure we would win anyways. Now, it will be more difficult but very interesting.
We are still more talented than them and they are from the east. Also they have a streak that begs to be broken.
They are more athletic but who is not ? They are also deeper but so is everybody else at the moment ( do not count teams like NO or CHA).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pedja, Mike and DC will play 40+ minutes tonight. We will have 8 man rotation but 6 of them will have heavy minutes. We are going to miss Bobby everywhere.
Wade will have a great game. Nightmare matchup for our guards. If Shaq does not play they will not be able to stop CW (game time decision I assume) and Brad.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
We lost pretty much only athletic player we had. Starters will have to pick up Bobby's numbers simply because bench is not capable to.
I think that RA should start Martin and bring DC from the bench, so we can actually raise the enregy level if needed. Is he going to do it ? (rethorical question).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I expect our players to give their best and play as a team. Obviously our margin for error disappeared. All our startes have to play well or we will not win tonight (80+ pts combined). If Shaq plays Tag will foul out but Tag will make it be worthy. Pedja need to build on the last performance and he needs to be kept involved. Bobby's absence might actually favor that. Mike needs to defend tonight. DC might end up with tripple double. ( Miller and Webber are always candidates).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

TNT - broadcast. Hopefully Kerr wil do Spurs (which I will not watch). That would leave us with Collins which I prefer. Also Barkley will talk to Kobe so You might want to miss that on purpose or switch to another chanell.
Spurs - Wolves - I wish they could both lose, I really do. But either way one of them will have one L more after tonight.
Go Grizzlies !

I really believe that the Kings are a superior team to the Heat. Over all they are a better team. Most of the wins by the Heat this year have come over 3 teams, Washington, Utah and Milwuakee. They are 4-5 against the Western Conference. If the Kings play the kind of game they played against Washington, they will win and win easily. :)

If they play the way they played against the pacers, bucks and lakers, then they'll get run off the court. I think Martin will play some extended minutes tonight. He is very athletic and will help the Kings. If Shaq plays, I look for Otag to play more minutes then usual.

I would expect O-Tag to log a lot of minutes tonight because of Shaq...which is a good thing. I really think that Adelman doesn't play O-Tag enough. He's the only shotblocker on the Kings and we'll need him to stop Wade's penetration.

And how do you think the crowd will react to Shaq? I think it's obvious that people will boo him because of his "Queens" reference and how much we hate the lakers, but now that Shaq is on Miami, I've kind of grown to like the guy. And especially right before Shaq takes on Kobe, it seems like people might want to show him their support, since it's pretty clear that nobody likes Kobe. It'll just be interesting to see how King's fans react.

I think the fans will still boo shaq. But, nex to Kobe, I like Shaq much better. If he hadn't made the comments about the Kings he made, then I would have evern liked the guy with the Lakers. What ever the out come, I think it will be a good game to watch. I keep reading on how the Kings won't be considered amoung the elete teams until they beat a "GREAT" team. Well, is Miami considered a GREAT team? Just wondered what you all thought. :D

I love the Martin Idea, he is capable of starting as we saw in the good pre-season play, and Christie would lead the team perfectly off the bench, but either way it would be nice to see Martin & Evans get around 15-17 minutes a piece tonight.

I think you're incorrect in your "assumption."

One other thing? Rick Adelman will NOT start a rookie in place of a healthy starter. It is NOT going to happen. Period. You do not sit someone like Doug down to provide energy coming off the bench. You just do NOT do it.

We have to remember that everything happends for a reason, with Bobby going down this could just be "not all that bad of a thing" we now get to see what Martin & Evans can really do. Good luck to them:)

Errr, guys and gals, were'nt we yaking about Kings-Miami matchups and such? What does fantisizing about rookies starting have to do with that?

Does anyone know if Shaq is playing tonight? Paper this morning said he may not play this weekend.

CD - I don't think we'll know until game time. You know how much the Large Living Room Suite (with occasional tables, standing halogen lamp, area rugs, sleeper sofa, two recliners, ceiling fan, lined drapes, overstuffed chair with matching ottoman, entertainment center, framed picture of Don Johnson and Philip-Michael Thomas, multiple HD-TVs, chauffeur-driven golf cart for room-to -room transport, in-house catering service, hotline to Chad Ford and 12-tall artifical Christmas tree) loves to be the center of attention, with ALL the spotlights firmly focused on him.

I doubt if he could resist playing tonight. If he doesn't, I'd have to concede he really IS hurt. And that wouldn't be good news for the Heat going into Staples on Saturday at all...

oh crap.

Doug Collins...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

as for the Spurs vs Wolves game....GO SPURS!!

I actually like the Spurs...but the Wolves...they are topping off my "I hate..." list

SPURS = yayyyyyyyyyyy
WOLVES = booooooooooooooooooo....hisssssssssssssssssssssss

oh yeah and

GO KINGS GO!!

Play hard
Play smart
Play together

and Larry Browns motto....PLAY THE RIGHT WAY

VF, tend to agree but wouldn't he be more inclined to rest and be sure to play his old Pal and buddy, the Kobe this weekend? :D

Probably. Of the two, I definitely want to see him play on Christmas Day. Imagine the drama - in the stands and on the court. The Shaq loyalists, all decked out in their jerseys, going toe-to-toe with the folks proudly wearing #8 regalia.

I'm thinking it might be one of the most entertaining games of the year, especially from a Kings fan point of view.

Even if the media blew everything out of proportion (which I don't think they did), the Clash of the Titans' Egos is going to be one for the record books.

I love Christmas!!!

KERR ALERT !!!
Kerr is doing the Spurs game (with Marv) as we expected.

Marv even made some comments about Kerr holding the 3 pt % record (when he played with the Bulls). Kerr made some remark about Marv trying to "diminish" the value of his record. Blech! He is terribly self-absorbed.

Did you guys see the love shaq got from our guys? :D Did Kobe get anything like that when the Lakers played?

Webber is NOT happy, according to his comments to Cheryl Miller. He said the Kings have to stick to the game plan and not panic. He's referring to the point in the game where the Kings started running around without much cohesion or teamwork...
