Potential Free Agent/Trade/Sign Tracker, '25-'26 Season

Yea my biggest problem with this is again more nonsense from the front office and their mouth pieces. "we didn't want to pay Keon now because we wanted to keep flexibility open". That flexibility is swapping Monk for Schroder and then signing Westbrook? Who is offering Westbrook more than a minimum at this point?

Then they said "kings fans want a move, but sometimes their isn't a move to be made, you shouldn't sell guys just to sell them". So what do we call trading Monk into cap space? A guy who is still in his mid 20s, wanted to be in Sac, signed with us, gave us huge moments, a true fan favorite. I absolutely understand Monk doesn't fit with Lavine/Demar, but we've made it clear those dudes aren't in the long term plans.

We do realize that we can keep Monk, sign Schroder, and just be bad while we wait for the deadline to move off Demar? Or hell even move Monk. Thats exactly the kind of player teams who deal with injuries are going to want from us. The timing of this team is always bad.

Yeah. Exactly.

Tyus went for 7M.
I'd have that over paying DOUBLE to Dennis and losing Monk.
signing Tyus Jones wasn’t an option. You’re living in a fantasy world.
Jerome went for 3/28
Tre Jones went for 3/24

CP3 you could probably get for 1/10. Same with Russ. WITHOUT giving up Monk
Maybe, if they wanted to come here. You can’t just decide a player signs because you want them to. If you want to improve, you have to sacrifice one (or more) of the half dozen shooting guards already on the roster. You sign one of the players mentioned, that’s it. That’s your free agency.

A trade allows you to free up the SG log jam (potentially more minutes for Keon and Devin) and use the MLE to bring in another needed role player.

Bringing in Dennis does not get Keon/Carter on the floor, it's just replacing Monk in the rotation. And he's... worse at basketball than Monk.

And by all accounts, it sounds like Westbrook is our other major target. Which buries Keon and Carter even further.

At least the FO seemingly has a plan. It's bad, but there's at least a thought of "Dennis makes a better team than Monk". Rather than just adding players to add players. That's the only positive I can think of with this move is there's some semblance of a team build here

Listening to Matt George. "They want russ and Dennis as vets to establish a culture"

So what are lavine, derozan, jval, sabonis?

I swear the front office gives these dudes scripts to calm kings fans down.

Let's double down on more 35 year olds

Doubtful but I would love that

If we can do that, we would have Carter, Ellis, Clifford, Holland, Raynaud as the future to mold. DET already hit on Thompson and are in win now mode so they may be more inclined to part with Holland who isn't ready to consistently produce.
