Hayes gone, Dalembert gone: Now What? thread

chuck Hayes tweeted that he is thanful for the people in his life. Then in all caps said I LOVE MY TEAM. what team is he talking about I wonder?

I don't think Tyreke's value is as high as Kings fans think it is. If you can get back a good Center, a #4 draft pick, and move a bad contract i think that's pretty good.

I just want to point out that the #4 draft pick was Tristan Thompson. I really enjoyed watching Texas play last year. Both Thompson and Hamilton were on my watch list and I saw them play probably a dozen times.

After about 3-4 games I stopped really focusing on Tristan because I felt that if he were to join our team he would be behind Dalembert, Cousins, and JT.

He might be a good player down the line, but I was shocked that he was selected 4th, and if it had been the Kings selecting him fourth I would have been livid.

I think it was a very poor decision by Cleveland, though I understand that they wanted to pair a big man with their #1 pick in Kyrie. I don't expect Tristan to live up to being the 4th pick in the draft. I don't mind if he proves me wrong because he seems like a good kid and I do wish him great success in the league, but I wouldn't bet on him becoming a dominant big man.

Last year I watched Texas play several times to see Hamilton, and Tristan really caught my eye as a young talent. But it was very evident how raw he was as a player, and felt he needed at least one more year in college. As surprised as I was that he came out early, I was more shocked when he was drafted 4th overall. IMO it will take him until his 3rd season to start showing what he is capable of doing (if he lives up to his talents). I agree that Cleveland will regret taking him so high.

Jason Thompson and Tyreke Evans + scrubs for Steve Nash, Gortat + amnestyable bad contract.

Ah, now I remember why I don't miss the Joe Axelson days as our GM.

THat's so stupid I can only assume you were trolling.

It's even stupider when you realize that, by rule, you cannot trade for an "amnestyable" contract. But only a little.

Is it that you can't trade for an amnestyable contract or that you just lose the amnesty rights after the trade?

The only players the Kings can amnesty had to be on the team July 1st. So that basically leaves Salmons and Garcia. The rest are on rookie deals or not eligible to amnesty.

You cannot amnesty a cotract you trade for after the CBA was signed. It has to be a contract already on your roster from last season or from a trade before the CBA. For instance, we could amnesty Garcia, Hickson, etc., but not any of our rookies or Hayes (if he were still on the team) as they signed contracts just a couple weeks ago.

What about Darko? i'm sure people will laugh but he did average 2 blocked shots a game last year! And since he's Darko and Kahn is Kahn, might be able to get him for a handshake and a smile.

I think Darko at 5 million is pretty cheap considering what he brings to the table plus look at what Kwane Brown got 7million wtf.
