Hayes gone, Dalembert gone: Now What? thread

They might want Tyreke! We send them Tyreke and Salmons/Garcia, they send us Varajao and Tristan Thompson.

I figure Hickson isn’t returning, especially if he has a good year.

So the Kings would have a starting FC of Cousins/Thompson with Varajao as the main backup big since he can play the 4 or 5.

Make Jimmer the PG

Sign AK47.

Cousins C
Thompson PF
AK SF
Thornton SG
Jimmer PG

Varajao 6th man
JT over Hickson...really??

I know but if the trade went down then Tyreke would be part of the rebuild in Cleveland. It would all just depend on how much they liked Tyreke.

That's a terrible deal for Tyreke. If we deal Tyreke it better be for a legit star like in a deal for a signed Dwight Howard or something.

So...whar you're suggesting is for Petrie to become Don Nelson in his first GSW stint? Trade away all your building blocks, I.e.: Richmond, Webber, before they reach their total potential?

No point rushing out to sign anyone now. Wait for the trade deadline and see if something happens. After the deadline go after someone released from china/euroleague or another FA to fill the gap.

With the amount of money that we're now forced to spend have we basically started a sweepstakes for some lucky brian scalibrini out there?

Kevin Love is better than anyone on our roster, truth be told. Ten rebounds, strong three point shooting, great passing. Now that he's lost weight he moves around like an SF...can bring the ball up the floor. He's ridiculous.

and they know that. We wouldnt get him for nothing. Truth is Kahn might have actually figured it out this offseason. Didnt overpay or make any rubbish moves. He wont let him go for nothing. Tyreke and Boogie would have to be given up

Knowing our fettish for unathletic, non-rebounding, non-shotblocking, jump shooting and passing bigs, I am sure we will bring back Brad Miller or anchor our interior defense. Or someone like that.

We have some $4-5million to spend to reach the minimum so we have to do something.

I'm thinking it probably goes something like this:

We either sign nobody or a scrub, finish at the bottom 3 again, and draft a defensive big in this stacked draft.

I'm impatient to win....Siiiiiigh. Friggin Dally.

Fingers crossed for Ak47, maybe Okafor (if we dont have to give up too much).

We waived Oliver and Hill and roster is now down to 13.

Hopefully Milsap is sitting tonight out because he has been traded to sacramento.... to land utah a two guard, heard hindrich could be had with cap space

If not AK or it's going to be a long ugly season.....

Petrie, petrie, petrie.........Listen carefully.....it is NOT OK to run with Cousins, JT, and JJ, absolutely not OK!

Utah has wayyyy too many big men. I'll take any one of them...except for Okur.

I don't think Tyreke's value is as high as Kings fans think it is. If you can get back a good Center, a #4 draft pick, and move a bad contract i think that's pretty good.

He's sitting tonight because he's injured. Stop making stuff up.

The Kings don't have to reach the minimum until later in the season. I don't expect and certainly hope the Kings don't rush to spend. If something is there they will do it. If not then its waiting until a trading partner can be found. I don't expect Petrie will do anything crazy. Certainly the guys we have including rookies will get the extra opportunities to show their stuff. Let's hope for the best. My first games in person will be Saturday the 31st against the Knicks and the following day against New Orleans. Go Kings.

Milsap would be a bad fit anyways.

Dont think we have the pieces...But it would be cool if we could snatch Ed Davis from Toronto

They like him far too much as part of their own rebuild.

Varejao or Okafor I could see -- expensive vets (that vet leadership thing I guess, although neither strikes me as the type) on teams on the way down who will want to unload them. Varejao also has the extra benefit of being able to play PF next to Cousins. But the thing is that the sort of thing I think a team like Cleveand would be most interested in, we just acquired from them this summer. And you have to remember who you are negotiating with if you go after Okafor.

Someone around here suggested Robin Lopez now that Gortat is in Phx. That's a thought, but he would only be a backup and not play enoguh minutes to make a big difference.

I want Varajao. I've wanted Varajao for the past two years .. I think he'd be a great fit next to Cousins.

Aside from Dalembert, Varajao would have been my second choice out of anyone realistically available this offseason. I'd take him over Okafor, and I'd take him over Hayes. I don't know how much value he has after missing all of last season, but if Cleveland really wants to rebuild and dump salary, I'd start by offering JT and Whiteside.

It also creates an interesting dynamic with Hickson. being able to play Varajao with Hickson off the bench could help them both play better.

Varajao would be awesome, but they aren't just going to give him away. Okafor however? He might be able to be had for JT and a 2nd. That contract is hideous.

Let's just bid for Thabeet and bring the circus in town. Having the tallest player in league sure brings a few more people to watch the game.

If there going to get someone from the Hornets they should just get Kaman for a one year rental. If he works out, try and re-sign him next year. If he doesn't, no real loss as they need a salary to get over the minimum anyways.
