The Spurs blew the game open with a 13-4 run in the third quarter, building a 15-point lead that stretched as high as 23 in the fourth.
By then, Bonner was already running amok.
He was so effective, in fact, that by game's end one Pacer was threatening to kill him.
With 25.6 seconds to play, Indiana's David Harrison, apparently none too happy about taking an elbow to the face during one of Bonner's fourth-quarter drives, informed an official of his plan for dealing with the scrappy Spurs forward.
"I'm going to (expletive) kill him," Harrison said.
That earned Harrison a technical foul. Harrison continued to stare Bonner down from the sidelines before being escorted to the locker room, where he received medical attention for the blow to his head.
Afterward, Bonner was oblivious to all of this. Informed of Harrison's comments, Bonner asked, "You only get a technical for that?"
It was only the second-most surprised Bonner had been all night.

Sounds like Harrison needs medical attention for more than the blow to the head.

I must say Bonner cracked me up with this line...

Bonner asked, "You only get a technical for that?"
:D

its not right to say something like that. i do understand how angry he was though. but that warrants a few nights in jail. if i were to say anything at all i probably wouldve said ima beat his tail.

Apparently nobody here has ever played pickup ball. That threat gets issued once a week at least. Unless somebody actually pulls a piece its just woofing.

Yeah, but the guy actually walked up and said it to an official. That's not woofing, that's rampant stupidity.

EDIT: And just to clarify a bit, this isn't David Harrison's first "episode." He's been a continual source of disappointment to Pacer fans for quite a while. His abilities are hypnotic at times but then his lunacy takes over and, as one of the tenured posters at PacersDigest says, "For every step forward, he takes three steps back."

This wasn't a one-time misstep on the part of Mr. Harrison. It was, as they're saying over there, the "final nail in the coffin of his career as an Indiana Pacer."

You know, no matter how frustrated we get, you look at the problems the Pacers have had and ours don't seem quite so bad.

Maybe it's not Ron after all, maybe it's the Pacers who're all nuts hahaha. But that's normal, when you're getting beat bad some guys say stuff or try to beat you up. Welcome to competitive basketball.

There are various rumors floating around that Harrison got even angrier after he left the court and actually knocked down a couple of poles that support some kind of awning. I don't have confirmed links, but at least one San Antonio report I read said one of the poles struck an usher.

The ways things go for the Pacers, said usher will most likely sue David Harrison and the Indiana Pacers.

people get like that when their pride gets bruised though, especially by a player like bonner.

I'm sure it was one of those heat of the moments things that he's long forgotten.
