I'll take your little rant as an act of emotion even if there was no cursing...
I disagree. I can't put a guy who scores 71% of his buckets from assists as an MVP candidate. If you consider top 5 or top 10 a candidate, fine. Personally, I call them candidates if they have a legitimate shot at winning the MVP.
He is an excellent pick and roll player and is lucky enough to be blessed with freakish athleticism and length to help him finish above the rim. Once he refines his game and can consistently score without relying on others, there's no doubt he's going to be an easy candidate for MVP, but right now? No.
If you want to argue semantics about what qualifies as a "candidate," feel free to talk until you're blue in the face. In my eyes, you're a candidate if you have a chance at winning, and with the current talent we have in the league, I don't think he has a chance.
