Hall of Famer
Finally, a game where Kings despite all attempts didn't lose. We were due and we got lot of help prom our guests from Orlando who were "too proud" to commit a robbery last night. Kings snapped a mini losing streak and improved to depressing 13-20 which is tied for 8th worst in the NBA and it is depressing because it isn't good enough or bad enough. It is right there, where we need it the least. Kings did snap a 4 game losing streak that they had at ARCO and now we are 9-8 at home. Kings won their first game of the 4 game home stand and we are playing the Grizzlies next and have a realistic opportunity to start a winning streak here for whatever it is worth it.

You know that Your team doesn't matter in a big picture when You play on Thursday and You are not on TNT. It means that You lose a lot, You don't have a superstar and Your opponent doesn't have one either. I don't mind these days. We really don't need to add insult to injury with guys in studio making fun of us telling us how bad we suck. We can figure that ourselves. And yet, they will show highlights of our game while America is watching Suns and Jazz. So we will have to take a small share of abuse when CB mentions how no one wants to see it and how both teams are "terrible" even though it will sound totally different. At least they will know that we still exist.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I will continue to present my case for a value of a draft pick using D. Howard as "evidence." He isn't Previs Ellison but he will do. Magic sucked bad that season and got the first pick and now they will have to be dealt with for years to come unless he decides to go to LA:rolleyes: Magic went 21-61 that year, had some luck with the lottery balls and now they are set. We don't need that. What we need is another 35 win season and Spencer Hawes - like player because draft has no guarantees - right. Well, it does have one - If You don't have high draft picks You will be stuck being mediocre until either Knicks win the championship or kenny Thomas retires. Your choice.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Last 3 games reminded me to the reign of the Kings Muss Powerpoint the 1st (and only hopefully).Too much for my taste. All the hustle, effort, hart etc lose this effect when we finishing games the way we have been in the last 3 outings. That "spider balls" effect makes me want the puke. And no we are not young team and we aren't inexperienced either. We are just that bad. Even when the game is out of reach and the opponent has given up - we find the way to bring them back. If we tried this hard not to screw up - we would be a mediocre team. It is pathetic when most of us know exactly when the turnover will happen and who will commit it. It never fails. If the game last night was a minute longer Magic would have won it without knowing why and how.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
And I like the effort and team play and guys playing as hard as they can each and every possession. It is nice to see and fun to watch for some 40 minutes a night. That is why we are competitive every night missing multiple key players. That is what keeps the hope up that some trades and a good draft can stop this bleeding that started in 2004 and it is bleeding us dry because You can't fool the fans unless those are Knicks fans. Is the same effort and intensity going to be there when our "key" guys come back - remains to be seen. We need hungry players who are playing "for their NBA lives." That is the only way to make this suffering bearable over longer period of time because the chances are - this will last.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Magic played pathetic last night and for a moment there looked like they had the audacity to rob us of something we earned that night. At the end - their run came just a little bit too late. Howard was unstoppable but so was Hedo who in the first 40 minutes was one of the best kings. If You add Magic back court which didn't exist - we should have won much bigger. Our assist to turnover ratio 17/17 was as good as theirs 19/19 so basically it came to the fact that we just didn't have enough time ti give it to the all the way.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

TDM went to JJ Redick who almost made a game from garbage time
LW-VC went to brother Hedo who would have helped his team more if he just sat out with his good old food poisoning.
RA&1 award went to their back court equally because they took a night off
SAR - Methuselah award went to Adonal Foyle who might be worse than KT
WTF moment of the game - If my memory serves me correctly - there was a foul away from ball committed by D. Jones towards the end of the game. I though that was as stupid as they will ever come.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Grizzlies are next and they are as bad as they come with a different that they are mostly a young team. They are 10-24 and 4-12 on the road. They can cause us trouble if we don't play for 48 minutes. We have to wait and see if some of our starters will be back and if that happens - how will it affect us. In the clash of front lines Mikki will be the most athletic player and he might actually do something positive before fouling out. Hopefully the energy guys off he bench will continue to get minutes and Cisco won't be in the game if it is close down the stretch
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Salmons - solid
Brad - more rebounds please !
Beno - 4 assists on 5 turnoves won't do it
Mikki - do something
Cisco - don't try anything heroic. Just stand in the corner an shoot the ball. Now, Rick Adelman makes perfect sense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hawes - that was decent
QD - two in a row
Jones - no more brain farts
Justin - effort is good but production not so
KT - keeps getting better every game

Coach T - need to manage end of games better
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Grizzlies are young and dumb. They have talent on the roster but they are couple of years away. Unlike us - they aren't wasting their time in mediocricy. they are going for draft picks. Gasol will be a handful, Miller might go for triple double again. Gay is solid. TDM will go to Darko. LW-Vc will go to - it is a tough call since Damon got benched - Navaro. I might regret this choice big time. Perfect opportunity for Kings to start a useless winning streak.
