[Game] Grizzlies @ Kings - 1/7/13

The weird thing is we've once again moved him off the ball. He's not initiating the offense - stuck in the corners or on the perimeter

He's playing SF, which makes no sense, as he was our best player pre injury as a PG/SG.

They enjoy him a lot more when for most the game hes been soft and they are up by 20

From their viewpoint he isn't playing soft. They talked about the game plan was to put a big body on him while they constantly push/pull/smash him all game long. They are being extra aggressive which gives him the appearance of playing soft. He has been to the floor a lot tonight due to contact.

Taking jumpshots, missed 2-3 weak lay ups which if he went strong could have easily made is playing soft

If anybody other than Smart were the head coach, a Brooks-IT-Jimmer lineup would simply be a sarcastic joke. With Smart, it is a reality.

I'm outta here. That shot by Brooks is like sticking a stake through my heart. He doesn't give a $hit.

Boogie has to be able to deal with that sort of contact and aggressiveness. It's fine and dandy if you can beat up Aaron Gray and Tyler Zeller, but the playoff teams are chalk full of big, strong, tough guys like the Grizz have.

Or, is Brooks taking 30 footers because we don't have an offense?

Chicken/egg. We don't really know.

Going by the first part of the second half he was doing it tonight because we don't have an offense. Not always the case though. I am not going to hate on him tonight.

Former most improved player on the court with a bunch of 3rd string guys most likely makes him feel like he has the right to take any shot he wants now. Don't agree with him feeling like that but wouldn't be surprised if it is what's going through his head.

I would have taken Brooks out right away. Don't like him anyway.

That's Smart idiotic style of coaching. He rarely pulls any player out for a horrible shot, bonehead turnover, anything foolish. Doesn't want to embarrass them or hurt their poor feelings. It's all about family, even if the family is dysfunctional much of the time.
