This is basically just a space holder and backup in case Tetsujin doesn't get a chance to do one of his terrific game thread intros. (If he does, I'll merge it into this initial post.)

So what can we hope for tonight? I'm looking for a continuation of team play, a favorable assist to turnover ratio and more DFC!

im looking forward to seeing if DeMarcus can keep up his outstanding level of play against the frontline of Marc Gasol and Randoph.

also excited to see Tyreke back!
 
Sorry, no thread today. First day back at work and things are crazy. There will be one for the next game.

I think the Kings like the home cooking and the rest and put up a good fight. It's going to be interesting to see how Smart incorporates Tyreke in the game.
 
Memphis isn't the same team that was lgihting it up the first month. They are more back to their normal good not great level. 6-4 over the last 10. 8-6 on the road. Quality team that can certainly beat you, but this isn't an epic or unbeatable opponent if we play well.

First game back for Reke though comes against Tony Allen? Jeesh. And Cuz hasn't liked Gasol's size in there as I recall.

Conly will have his way with our tiny guards. 21pts 12assists
Gay will score 26
Cousins will continue to play like the best big man in the league. But wont score as much as he has been lately Because of Gasol. 24Pts, 13reb, 6ast

You realize 24-13-6 are Hall of Fame numbers, right? If you think Gasol's length will bother DMC then his numbers will probably be less impressive than that!

I said he wont score as much. Compared to the 28 and 31 from the last 2 games
 
EVANS is BACK!!!! cant wait to see Garcia starting over him!!! OMFG Smart dont be a total douchebag! after the last few games i will take Evans at 20% vs Garcia at 100%
 
Evans will come off the bench tonight and rightfully so. Yes, Garcia has sucked but I don't think you throw Reke out there just yet.

I agree. He has been out of action for some time. Get him back in to the swing of things against some backup players and help him get his game shape back up.
 
Watch Evans and Cousins go out there tonight and just have monster games, not to mention the supporting cast all playing well and together.

I hope the Kings pull this game out but I'm just not sure. If Zach Randolph has an insane game, they will be tough to beat.
 
Yea, tonight would not be a good night to start Tyreke with arguably the best perimeter defender in the NBA on the other side. Hoping for a strong 25 minutes for Tyreke tonight where we see him be aggressive on both ends
 
anybody know a place where one would be able to look up recent results of a series? I'm fairly certain that the Grizzlies have been smoking the Kings lately, especially last season, but would like to know for how long that has been the case.

btw, this game will be a loss and a pretty big one at that. couldn't beat the Grizz when they didn't have Z-Bo, with him it'll only be worse. their guards can completely shut the Kings chuckers down and Cuz doesn't like the matchup with Gasol (averages of 12.4/7.5/1.5 at 43.5% shooting with 2.5 turnovers and massive foul trouble), as Brick correctly stated.

edit: nevermind, found what I was looking for at basketball-reference. not quite as comfortable as hoped, but suffices.

Normally I would agree with you but we are a much different team of late and we're at home. I think this will be a very competitive game tonight.
