this loss basically ends the playoff season for us. Well better start looking at that draft and trade moves. For one i've been all for trading Brad Miller and there's nothing to back me out anytime soon.

Why was he helping when there was no Reason to help, He was cheating off his man and the ball and play wasn't even on his side of the floor, Then by cheating he got sucked into the Ducnan Screeen, He was picked off so Bad because he didn't even no where the play was, He had no idea where the ball his man were at, The screen, Nothing, They were playing 4 on 5 on that play.

it isn't over yet. We still have ARCO

Yes, Piksi, you're right... But the Kings have to win 4 games in a row if they don't want a game 7 in San Antonio... That isn't going to happen...

let's just worry about game 3 for now

We just lost the first 2 games in a playoffs series against the champs, and we're talking planning for game 7?! I just want to see the effort they showed tonight. And for Brad Miller and Mike Bibby to show up. Thats all you can ask for.

I originally was pissed at the Kings D and Bibby on that final shot, but look at the replay.

link went way bad

Nobody really left their man. It was actually an illegal screen by Duncan, stepping out into Bibby and taking him down so that Barry was wide open.

Adelman ( A- ) -- ...

c)In game, noticed Rick using aa good early timeout in the second half as we came out flat and not ready to go. Reminscient of the one Rick called near the end of the regular season against...? to refocus us (but not nearly as effective this time).

Denver.

Finally, amongst the controversy over the final game tying shot in regulation, my own focus is on why was Mike Bibby even out there? On a game ending regulation play, you choose Mike as one of your 5 best defenders? Many people seem ready to jump off a bridge over this loss. I see it different. We were not expected to win. Had no right to win. And we gave it a heck of a shot. We did ourselves proud.

Agreed.

Wow, that was a foul.

But you can't rely on that at the end of a game. Shouldn't have been ANYONE in the paint. Let them get a layup, they were doing it all night anyway.

Hmm at least initially doesn't look illegal to me. But it was definitely the screen. Not as if Mike jsut lost his guy by himself. Actually Reef has to call that out to him (obviously do not know whether he did, nor whether he could be heard over the crowd).

I concur. If he can't focus long enough to realize that we don't need him to help down (6'1" Mike Bibby helping in the paint is pointless), especially when we're up three points, then he needs to be slapped -- then benched.

The first screen Duncan sets is legal, then Bibby gets around it and Duncan then steps out and thats when Bibby falls down.

Duncan is clearly moving on it, and he trips Bibby.

I remember thinking that screen looked a little iffy at the time it happened, but it looks less so to me now. Just looks like Mike was caught by surprise.

It looked to me like Mike was turning to collapse, and wound up sending himself right into the screen.

And it was an illegal screen. Duncan clearly moves as Mike tries to get around him. But you're not going to get that call on the road in the playoffs.

i agree G3, i saw it the same way. but first i didnt understand how Barry was left open from beyond the arc. that play was a game changer.

My bad. It was indeed Bibby's problem.

I think the Kings need to make one major trade in the off-season and it aint Bibby.

Kings played them tough. No disgrace.

Bonzi a "C". Unbelievable assessment!

That's why I said initial screen. It is that later step that could have been called. Actually would not have mattered, Barry had the open look even without it. By definitely something that could be called...just not with 4 seconds to go in the game.

That's a legal screen, not sure if Mike was caught off guard, or if he was trying to sell a moving screen to the ref. But, it was legal...

Well designed play actually. You can see that by having Manu go hard to the hoop Reef turns his head and moves over to help, leaving Duncan free to screen Mike, and Reef out of position to recover to the corner. Also means Reef is not looking and so cannot call out the screen. Would take somebody with better defensive awareness than Mike + Reef to beat that.

i would knock bonzi down to an A- due to the fact that he missed so many free throws. if he had made just ONE more we would have won. it's hard to criticize him since he had such a fantastic game, but i have to on that. missing free throws in the playoffs in tight games are inexcusable.

A for SAR and Kevin.

D for mike, his shot wasn't falling, bowen, but he did get 7 boards and 6 dimes. also hit some shots in OT, before making that critical TO.

Z for brad. where the **** has he been these playoffs???

I can't imagine that Rick didn't say, "Allow the two... Don't give up a three" So I don't know what they were collapsing for... Reef needed to step out...

Bonzi alone with Martin carried up through most of the first half. Though his second half was less then stellar he still came up strong despite his missed free throws and deserves at least an A imo.

I didn't think they collapsed that much on that play. Reef has to be there to get a rebound, so they don't get the offensive board and kick out for a three. The guy who collapses the most if at all is Martin, who is guarding Parker. Cisco sticks right to Horry. I do think the illegal screen mattered, because Barry had noone even rushing at him. You have Bibby at least running at him and he has to shoot quicker.

Mike still didn't no where his man was, his man Ran Through and Back to the Corner and Bibby went under the Screen into the paint,He had no idea Where his man was, He gets sucked into the Screen, There is no Reason that this should happen, But Defensively he just doesn't have the sliver and snake movements to get around those type of plays, But it was almost impossible with him being sucked into that play like that.

Very true. Bibby was also looking at the guy with the ball. Like he was going to come help if they needed it. That is a bad habit they need to break with him. Sorry Bibby, you are not going to be able to help in the paint one way or the other.
