[Grades] Grades v. Bucks 12/23/10

Elie was clearly the guy until the DUI. Winner and tough guy as a player, and had been intereviewed for head spots before. Maybe an up and comer that people would lsiten to with several rings. But I don't know how to factor in the DUI, and having been here for a year and a half with Westphal, all the winner stuff is kind of muted because players already know him and assocaite him with the current regime. Still, he's the obvious head choice, if we went that way.

If I were the owners I would seriously be looking outside for an impact guy, a longterm guy who could come in and change the culture. But then again, if I were the owners I'd probably also be broke and maybe not abel top afford that even if I could convince somebody to come. Much as I have always thought he was overrated, especailly vis a vis Adelman etc., a guy like Jeff Van Gundy suddenly interests me as he's always coached great centers and likes defensive rosters, which ours has the potential to be. Miek Brown maybe intereste me in that he's coached LeBron and might be abel to help Reke, and again coaches defense. Tehre are guys out there, but just who knows at this point.

At this point I would give Elie a shot. Despite the DUI, he at least has the potential to be a good coach, let's give him a 2/3 of the season audition. If he works out, great, he's already under contract anyway and would be cheap even if we have to rework it. If not, get a new coach for next year.

JVG intrigues me too. Almost like Adelman when we first got him, may not be the sexiest choice, but there's no doubting his NBA pedigree.

The heat that Westfail has got seems 10 times worse than what Theus or Muss got (deservingly so, though). Even before Theus was fired, I don't remember people calling him out with such direct questions...

Or am I just wrong?

Muss won 33 games and got dismissed after the season. I can't recall local press going after him to any degree although his DUI just as season was beginning scored a huge black eye for him personally. Back then it seemed most all the drama, and words were about Artrest - and that continued under Theus. Since Reggie started off with a bang and was even mentioned as a possible COY candidate early on taking Kings to a 5 game improvement over Muss, he was considered a minor savior - in that moment. He got fired next season after starting off 6-15 and having some weird drama with Maloof's over role of his "defensive coach," Chuck Person - at least that's what was reported. I do remember last couple of days before he was let go that the press was sensing something was up with Reggie simply defending himself and trying to put focus on the next game. This currrent situation has been building slowly and after the Golden State insane debacle it boiled over a bit tonight. I say a bit, because I've seen far worse situations in after game news conferences at NBA and NCAA level. Actually, considering all the pressure I think PW handled it about as well as he could. Now all the news going forward will be, how can Tyreke get his act together - or can he?

It's from top to bottom all the way from the owners," Landry said. "I think everybody can do a little something better. I'm not pointing the finger at just the players. I'm not pointing the finger at just the coaches. I'm pointing the finger at everybody in this organization. I think everybody can do a little bit something better to make this team a better ballclub, including myself."
Interesting....

Westphal says Tyreke told him about some personal problems he is having after the game. Anybody got an ideas. PW got pretty upset when he kept getting asked questions about. They asked what kind of situation it was he "nobody's buisness, thats what it is"
I thought Westphal looked pretty upset when he came on, if fact, very upset. I don't think he has to justify that. It is a very upsetting time for all, me too.

grades grades grades. Where are the grades? (don't care about no theme--need grades). Christmas be damned.
Let's bench Brick, pick up some troll from a lakers board, and have him do the grades. I think that in itself would qualify as a fitting theme at this point.

Hmmm, wondering the same but maybe a bit more complex situation this time. As Brick said, he FINALLY understands totally inexplicable he's been viewing over these past three months - after Tyreke's mercurial confession to Coach right after the game.

I'll bet that the passengers on the Titanic were just as upset as the Captain too. The problem is, they weren't the one steering the ship..

My daughter and I were at the game. Met Section 101, and now that I know that he's bigger than I'am I won't argue with him anymore. If I were not a Kings fan, but just an outside observer, and I watched that game, I can honestly say that I wouldn't have cared which team won.

The was little to get excited about from either team. I thought both teams looked as flat as a pancake, and at times looked as though they couldn't wait to get back to crhistmas shopping. I was actually stunned when Evans scored in the fourth quarter and I looked to see that it was his first basket in the game.

With something like 26 or so seconds left in the game, and we're down three I believe,
and the Bucks inbound the ball, my daughter is up screaming foul the bastard. And we did around 12 seconds later. I have no explaination for some of the mistakes that are being made. This is highschool stuff folks!

And then I have to watch that video and hear we played hard? I have to hear he couldn't actually remember why he substituted Greene for Cisco. I had to hear he couldn't even remember the play I just discribed. What the hell game was he watching?

He has a hard job. I acknowledge that. But he wanted the job, and is getting paid 1.5 mil to do the job. So I'm not about to feel sorry for him. But in the spirit of christmas I will wish him a happy holiday, and hopefully a good new year. Merry Christmas to all of you as well.
