Kings mostly played terrible. Shot terrible from three and the line.

The defense and rebounding did pick up in the second half.

Kings were out rebounded 16-2 I believe at one point in the first quarter. So to finish only -7 there was big. Huerter and Fox were big on the glass. This was a big rebounding game for guards. Sabonis and Looney only combined for 12 rebounds in this one. Major change from the average you’ll see when they matchup.

Also, for how ugly the Kings played, they didn’t turn the ball over a lot. That will always give you a chance against the Warriors.

Clutch performance by Monk. Consistent thorn in the side of the Warriors. When I talk to Warriors fans the guy they always talk about is Monk. He has that Nick Van Exel intimidation for a 6th man.

Fox nearly sold the game from the line but he also willed the Kings back in the game. Played well defensively. Rebounded. Made assists.

Sasha was awesome. His energy on both ends saved the game.

He should be getting regular minutes next to Fox and Domas. At the very least he should be not getting DNP-CD’s. Let the guy get a rhythm. Though it’s been interesting that his last couple of appearances Brown played him as SF for long stretches. He is also WAY more competent defensively than we expected. He uses his hands well and has good timing. Good timing goes a long way to making up for lack of athleticism. Hopefully tonight won Brown over for good.

Trey was a dog again. He has found a home(Kings first team to re-sign him) and he plays like it. He like Monk, consistently plays well against the Warriors.

Huerter had probably the most consistently good game, he did blow a big layup but 21 points, NINE rebounds and 5 assists is getting the job done.

Domas 9 points on 8 shots won’t help him shed the Warriors monkey off his back but I’m happy with the 10 assists to 1 turnover. Usually when he struggles vs the Warriors he’ll force things and start turning it over. No shoehorning helped the Kings tonight. His teammates picked him up. He’ll exorcise the demon in time. He did play very well in San Francisco.

Barnes played well. I’ll credit him with Huerter for scoring when the Warriors started blowing the Kings out. They didn’t let the game get away. Defense left very much to be desired again and I think Brown felt the same as his use was limited in the second half

Duarte worked his ass off. It will eventually pay off. He is a strong defender but he doesn’t have the reputation with the refs to get away with being as physical as he is.

The bench played well outside of Javale. Good to see Keon back.

I like Javale and I’m glad we have him but think he should only be used in certain matchups(Minnesota, Lakers, etc) where his size either provides a massive advantage or it’s desperately needed to neutralize big teams.

It really isn’t needed vs the Warriors. He’s not going to come in and tear down 20 rebounds. You’re bailing them out when it’s been proven that they struggled with our small ball bench unit with Trey at Center.

This is a big win. Hopefully can go a long way to exorcising the Warriors demon because the Warriors actually played very well. They haven’t been getting this level of balance this season.

You tell the Warriors they are getting 29 from Wiggins and 20 from Klay. 29 from Curry. 11 from Moody and 10 from Saric. They outrebounded the Kings. They outshot the Kings from 3. They scored more from the line despite shooting less free throws. Sabonis only scored 9. Fox was average and inefficient offensively. Kings objectively didn’t play very good. They had a 20+ point lead. Warriors think they are winning this game. They didn’t.

So Kings should be feeling very good about this one.

Hopefully no let down tomorrow.

Clippers just got embarrassed at home by two well over the hill former Clippers. So they’ll be out for blood

Also Sasha and Trey are both deserving of big rotation minutes going forward, which is a bit of an issue seeing as how they play the same position as Keegan Murray, who is presumably going to play again this season and Mike Brown refuses to cut HB's minutes and/or play Trey at the five unless absolutely necessary.
He’s going to have to cut down HB’s minutes, I’m sorry. I see no other option

I have to give Coach Brown his props. I called him out in this game thread earlier saying he was being out coached by Kerr in the 1st half. He completely flipped the script in the 2nd half. I feel like he made smart adjustments not only with his rotations and who he played off the bench (no Javale) but the late strategy to trap Steph paid off. That’s why he’s COY.

What a game! First half super frustrating but love the way we fought back in a game where it felt like our offense never really got clicking.

one random thought….the foul called on Duarte when he was applying some ball pressure on curry in the backcourt, was one of the most egregious I can remember in a long time. A clear push off by curry right in front of the ref. Embarrassing.

With Sacha you as new to him , me as a new Kings fan , we are yet to see one of his BEST quality - the Energy which he is able to put both emotional and physical ... Once he enters the game he is all about win , and we burry to flor just to do it ... Other thing which we can not see , i am sure on this first training after the game he will go the open look 3 pointer he missed and he will make 100 more training shots not to miss it next time ... He was looking a bit scared in the summer games , totally lost in deffence as well , but with every game he get a chance to play i thing we see a good improvment there ... For Chryst sake he got 2 blocks today , i am not sure he has 2 block for whole year in Eurolegue when he become MVP :))
There is still MUCH to see from him in offense as well ... i think a bit more minutes to build up a bit of selfconfidence and you will see what he is really capable of there ... He had (multiple) games with 80% plus last year in Europe , where he was actually finishing 60% of the attack , not like now getting the ball from time to time ...
Really hope Brown will give hime a bit more minutes and we will see a full of Vezenkov really soon ...

I am a bit worried for tomorrow to be honest ...
Dont see this emotiona and physical exhaustion from today recovering in less then 24h , but lets see :)

I know that Golden State fans will say that we won on a lucky last second shot, but didn't Golden State beat us on a last minute shot recently?
KINGS have lost due to similar shots many, many times over the years. It’s nice to see one go their way now and then.

And, yes, Klay’s game winner last time out was close to being blocked from behind by Keegan, so in that respect they were fortunate too.

Fwiw, Curry missing the game-ended shot makes up for the one he hit during the preseason, and then some. Because this game actually counted — twice.

Hall of Famer
What a way to win
Draymond Green was huge for us down the stretch
Kerr burning his last timeout on the review of the Curry 3 was just dumb
Curry handling a trap like Jimmer Fredette
Kerr taking a red-hot Moody out to put Klay back in

Every single one of those Warriors names I just listed, except Moody, I can’t stand. Smug sons of a B’s

Duarte got the start in place of Murray last night. Who should get it against the Clippers? I am thinking Try Lyles. He brings that grit the Kings sometimes need, and has played really well in his three games back, shooting 41.2% from deep and averaging 7 rebounds per game.

I think he earned them this game. He is clearly part of a small ball rotation which we need against certain match ups. I hope we see a lot more of him against the Pels.

Believe me mate I will be the happiest member of the group to see more minutes for Sasha and I believe he will earn every second of them ;)
