I would have bet good money after Game 7 that the Kings would never lose to these guys again. But now I'm starting to wonder if the Kings are going to be the Sheed/Pippen Trail Blazers to this team's Shaq/Kobe lakers.

It's not as close as the score says. Warriors outplayed the Kings in all facets of the game.

Surprisingly, the Warriors have more turnovers, 11-6. But the rebounding, oh boy, 29-18 just in the first half.
Oh, I dunno. I'd say it's *precisely* as close as the score indicates.

It's a bad matchup. The Kings aren't the best 3 point defensive team by far, I think they're 23rd right now and falling, and the Warriors have a lot of size on the perimeter. Then when the Kings play big they're a bit slow. The Warriors clamp down the paint and run out to shooters very well.

I would have loved to take that bet. Nothing about how the Kings lost last year said “Yeah, we’re ready for these guys” to me at all. Folded when it mattered most. Couldn’t protect the home court against an abysmal road team. I know I’m reactionary and too in the moment and too negative for my own good, but I couldn’t believe people thought we were ready for these guys this year and I hate that I’m looking right.

Nah, the Kings are much younger than the Warriors. The Kings won’t hit their peak for a couple more years. The Blazers-Lakers timeline was pretty similar age wise.
The Warriors will be on the downside by the time the Kings hit their peak in a couple of years.

it’s the same issue with the Pels, Rockets and Warriors. They play a drop and have centers the Sabonis can’t bully under the basket. It mucks up our entire offense because they drop and dare Sabonis to shoot.
giving Sabonis the max without him proving he could shoot is going to be a big mistake unless Sabonis can finally hit an outside shot…
giving they are leaving him wide open this chart won’t get it done….

He better. Regardless of this game, the kings earned their record and earned their place to have that 11pt difference. Let’s not make this game out to be the nba Finals. We win that in game it will go a long way to boost our confidence. We lose this game by more than 11 it will go a long way the other direction

I think this means a lot to the players. They played up against OKC and Minny to be in this position. Warriors are just in our head

Shameful first half performance on both ends.
Huerter and Barnes were decent but that’s about it. Monk started off good.
Getting out worked to all loose balls. They started off the game ball watching and haven’t snapped out of it. They have struggling players but nothing helps to break a slump then getting wide open shot. Kings once again can’t make open threes when they aren’t turning them down.
This is mental though.
It’s not a coincidence they almost won the game in San Francisco without Fox if not for a buzzer beater. They went into the game loose because nobody was going to hold it against them if they lose and they played good enough to win. Now they are tight,..and it’s not because of the stakes of the In season tournament. They need to get over it. The Warriors simply aren’t this great anymore. Everybody else in the west seems to have gotten the memo on this except the Kings.
Did I miss something about Duarte? Did he get injured?

OK, 2nd half Fox probably has to explode. The defense is always predicated on the Kings offense and in a game this pace 55 won't cut it most likely.
