Give Wenyen Gabriel some burn.

Give the guy a shot to earn some mins even if gradual. Some of these youngsters need to be on the Mexican food all the time diet dangit.

Ah. Never figured Mexican to be particularly bad for you. I guess that explains my current predicament.

Probably the assumption of lots of refried beans and rice with the plated meals? Not exactly diet foods....just a guess.

I too have high hopes for this young player. He has the size and physical tools to dominate defensively plus a serviceable 3 point shot. Heck of a back story as well.

Not really an issue for NBA players, or at least shouldn't be. Rice, beans and meat is pretty much perfect for anyone looking to get stronger and gain muscle, provided they're lifting.

players also have to find a fine line between putting on too much weight vs being fast....some players who've bulked have hindered their performance.

Most notably that guy in your avatar. I feel somewhere along the way he tried to convert himself into a Westbrook type player. I don't think players like Gabriel or Jackson are going to be worried about being to bulky anytime soon. I'll take a side of this type of shooting though.

^^

Correct. Wall bulked up too much in the offseason and his speed and athletic ability is a non-factor right now. I'm not sure why he thought bulking was going to do him any good but if he wants to regain his all-star self, he needs to lean back up.[/QUOTE]

To me Wall didnt so much look like he "bulked up" as much as he had a lazy offseason and certainly didn't miss any meals.

Don't forget about the tortillas!

I think you're fine if you stick with corn.

Actually, if you want to nerd out for a moment, I think a Mexican diet isn't so bad. Combining rice and beans nets you your essential amino acids. Toss an avocado into your bowl and you have some healthy fats as well. A nice pico de gallo gives you some healthy veggies.

The problem comes when you wrap that in a flour tortilla and then deep fry the sucker. But man, is it tasty then.

I agree with all of this, but especially with the bolded line about chimichangas!

Corn has no beneficial value to a human being and isn't properly digested in the intestines so I have to disagree with you there. Also, in a Mexican diet there isn't much emphasis on Brown Rice and more so on White Rice which contains too much starch and not enough fiber, so it's essentially an empty carb which spikes your insulin shortly after eating it making the person hungry much quicker, which goes back to the white starchy carbs aspect of it all. end rant.
